my mk2 old school build.. a few pics from today

So, been quiet for a while but have still been busy working on
the golf whenever I get a bit of time (which is little just
now).. so here are some pics of my kjet mod.. works really well
so far, needs a shake down on track and final tune.
You may notice an extra cable and an important pipe missing? :)

Kjet disc removed and the arm is now controlled directly via a
cable on the arm itself. The cable is fully adjustable and self
returning. Revs up very quickly and cleanly.. a bit
controversial :)

Air intake is now in the scuttle, airflow comes in via the
bonnet vents.. everything meshed and secure.

Dizzy is an old pug 205 gti bob weighted unit which allowed us
to remove the ECU fuse box. It now revs up so quickly.. cant
wait to get it out for a shake down :) Thoughts please? :)

:o It'll be interesting to see an AFR plot on the rollers as
the amount the flap on a air metering head opens is driven by
the engine demand for air which is likely not a linear profile
like you will get from having it directly related to throttle
position as per your setup. If you find that the fueling
profile isn't right you could overcome this by using some sort
of cam type setup mounted on the throttle body to actuate the
air metering plate cable ???
Well that's my two pence worth Stu ;)

Ello Stu!...about time!
I thought along similar lines a long time ago, tho more like Tim
said, with a snail type cam to get the fuel ratio right on the
metering head arm...similar to what you would find on an old
mechanical injection system on a BDA Escort rally car on Lucas
injection.
10 out of 10 for lateral thinking tho...
Should have kept the ecu Stu and fitted digi injectors... ;D

Cheers for the input guys, its an experiment i know but Im very
interested to see the results. New coilovers and faulkner
springs going on this week along with uprated brakes,
vibratechnics front mount and new rear beam. Then, off to the
track for shake down. fingers crossed! Like the cam idea :D

Urry up Stu and get it on track!....and the rollers! ;)
Yeah could be worth looking at the cam if your set up needs fine
tuning....
