Your approach to submitting entries
By: BurtyP Date: November 9, 2010, 4:26 am

All,
We've got a few more entries submitted which is great, and
talking to other members i'm anticipating a flurry of postings
towards the end of the month (as they are all holding back
posting their best photo just in case their ideas are copied!..
very competitive!!)
Anyway just thought i'd ask what other members approach is to
taking/submitting photo's for the monthly competition... Do you
simply go through all of your photo archives and pick one which
best matches the monthly theme, or are you using this as an
opportunity to get out and take a shot specifically for the
comp..
Feedback appreciated..

My own approach will be to get out and about taking new shots.
This will be a chance to improve techniques and try different
aspects of photography.
I'm a little concerened that the Nikon boys havn't posted
yet...............very tactical me thinks

I think Ben and Richard have been out with their 'cameras', the
results were probably so poor (given equipment used) that
they've probably stuck their Nikon's on Ebay and heading to
Jessops to buy some lovely shiny Canon gear... ;D then they
can post some proper pictures!

My entry this month was one I had taken in the summe4r which
'fitted the bill' but I hope to use this competition to get out
and take more. I think the subject will dictate what I do.

Same here Andy... we did consider limiting all entries to shots
JUST taken during the month but thought that might be a bit
restrictive, so finally decided to leave it open to any photo
and those who wanted use this as an opportunity to shoot to a
theme as a 'challenge' could do so..
Cheers,

I just quickly put together a few random items on my desk and
took a picture with my phone.

Well, to be honest, and this applies to the next month, etc. I
will just find whatever relates to the current theme and have it
on, near, etc. to my nextdoor neighbour so long as she's in
shorts and colourful socks. Oh wait, that was this month, so
scrap that!
OK, I will simply put my thinking cap on and practise shooting
until I get the required shot, mainly because I like a
challenge!
