Okay, I see that I've linked this post to 'With Benefits'
already, which explains the basic situation so far.
PJ and Bridgette have decided to get married.
After several months of pre-marital therapy, they've decided
that they'll both be happier married, and that they have the
basis of a strong relationship. More importantly, both of them
tend to be independent, a bit introverted, and they both enjoy
being together, but both need private time. Working with their
therapist, they were able to come up with a schedule that gives
them what they need, while also giving them time together and
family time.
Of course, she's expecting about the middle of October (and she
said Brennan and Dylan were exactly on schedule, so she expects
this one to be as well), so they're now in a bit of a rushed
situation.
They were just going to get a quick JOP wedding, but I've
convinced them to have something a bit more formal. I know the
local Justice of the Peace, and he's willing to come out for
only a minor fee, so we can have it here, and have room for the
family.
I mentioned yesterday that school starts in less than three
weeks, since today is 1 August. They're both at work today, but
I already checked with the JoP. They're looking at a 10am
wedding on Saturday, 24 August. They won't be able to take a
real honeymoon, since neither of them has time to schedule
vacation, but they can both get off that Monday, and they let
me pick a honeymoon for them, so they're getting two nights at a
nice resort not too far from here, where they'll be able to
enjoy a spa and some outdoor activities (which they both love).
I went by their house this morning to take a look. While we
arranged it so the two duplexes connect, there's really no way
to make it into one home, so they're going to be looking for a
new house. PJ always had an independent streak, and it took
him a long time to accept he was part of this family, so he
never let me help set him up on his own like my other boys have.
Between them, they have all the furniture they need, and
(thanks to selling some property earlier this year), I'm flush
right now, so I'll probably buy a house for them, and let them
pay me back at a very low interest rate. They could afford
their own home, but one important thing they realized is that
they each need a personal place where they can retreat, so it'll
need to be a very large house - kind of a shame since Kelly and
Ryan Tucker are both about to start high school, but having the
space the need is more important now than having too much in the
next four to ten years.
