Square, I have seen this movie, and I would have had absolutely
no problem with them seeing it. My problem - beyond the
breaking of rules involved in theater jumping - is that some R
rated moves are barely more than PG-13, while others have HUGE
problems with them. If an underage kid is going to see a
rated-R movie, I want to know why the movie is rated R, in case
there's something I want to discuss with them before or after.

Bottom smacking
While I haven't done any real spanking in the last few days,
there have been a few boys with stringing rears.
I think it was Tuesday that the younger kids decided that
chasing each other through the house like the Wild Hunt would be
a good idea. The general noise level caught my attention, but
they had bumped into my collection display and knocked a few
things over before I could get to them. Fortunately nothing was
broke, and that did bring everyone to a quick stop.
I made sure what was going on, then broke things up. Some of
the ones who seemed more guilty were sent to the corner for a
few minutes, until I could talk to them. The oldest two boys
involved were Jake and Sam Sutton. I smacked Jake's rear,
because he should have known better and should have been a
better example, and sent him to the corner in my office. After
a few seconds, Sam asked me to do the same to him, just in case
his parents heard about the episode.

Last night, it happened again (not the chasing) at bath time. I
think I had 12, under-12 boys here overnight, and I was sure
they all needed a bath (more because today is a family day, than
because any of them were filthy).
Banting or showering that many boys takes a certain amount of
organization, and there is a level of assembly line work to it.
We were using both of the downstairs bathrooms and the one in my
room, getting boys undressed and sending them to wherever was
the next empty space. Two of the oldest boys - Ennis Strouse
and Kline (both 11) - decided that they'd rather go ahead and go
back to what they'd been doing with their 3DSes (what's the
plural of 3DS?). It didn't take too long for me to notice they
were missing. This was disobedience, but hardly world class, so
I just took their games, then took their arms, landed several
firm swats to the seat of their boxers, and headed them back to
where they'd been told to wait. For them, I think the worst
problem was the obvious hand marks when they got ready to get in
the shower.
