2018 Halloween Plans

Yes, we actually are already talking about this.
There are two things you really have to consider before going
'Huh! WTF, Jack?' The first is that I have 13 'boys' (including
Jeremy), plus Jake and Ryan Tucker, plus the grands, and I'm not
going to throw Chandler, Billy, or Emmett out of consideration.
Since Halloween is on a Wednesday this year (the other
consideration) that means most of the parties (if not all) need
to occur the weekend before.
While I think I'm safe not worrying about Jeremy getting an
actual party (he'll probably help at some, hang out at one or
two others, but most likely to attend elsewhere), I have to
think that I have high school and middle school kids at two
different schools, plus the younger kids - meaning five
different groups of friends.
Most of the kids have overlapping friendships, so who goes to
which school really doesn't matter that much. We'll probably
have a middle school sleepover type event with movies on Friday
night, then a high school, boy/girl type thing with dancing and
stupid games on Saturday. Sunday, we'll probably start early
for the younger kids and let them watch some 'scary' cartoons
and a movie in the afternoon with snacks, then have some games
and a haunted house to end the evening (by 7pm).
Van and the Phantoms already have a gig on that Saturday night,
which is kind of a generic high school thing put on at the
Family Center, and they're playing a private party Friday night
(just two sets). He'll probably get together with a few of his
closest friends after the gig on Friday, and just hang out
Saturday while they're not playing. I asked if he didn't want
to do something himself, but he says he'll be fine doing that,
since he does love the performing, and he'll probably supervise
some of the younger kids on actual Halloween.
Now it's just double checking, making the invitation lists, and
deciding on details.
