I hadn't thought of it that way, Adric, but I guess there are
some parallels.
I guess DB has a point, but it probably depends on how the boy
sees it. Even though we're both big brothers, Andy is the main
disciplinarian for his little brothers, and I had been handling
a lot of the day to day discipline with my own.

"Carter received a pretty standard lecture/explanation for why
he was going to be paddled, but I think it was more a teacher
explaining than a parent lecturing."
Always interested in what was said/reactions in these
circumstances.
How was Carter told what his punishment was going to be, what
did Andy say to him?
What was Carter's reaction to being told his punishment, if any?

I was going to title this thread Bloody, Bloody Andy Jackson,
but I thought only Kier - and maybe Leti or Wil if she ever
shows up again - would get the joke.

Was it to do with President Andrew Jacksons being impeached or

It was a failed musical by the late, sadly missed Michael
Friedman, who died at 41 from complications of HIV/AIDS. Mr.
Friedman was a great composer and a wonderful man. Bloody,
Bloody Andrew Jackson was not a great work IMO.

Interesting that Square should chose this evening to comment on
Andy. I spanked Dash yesterday afternoon.
Dash was being brought into the office as I was getting ready to
leave. He'd been late to class, and I mean VERY late - 15
minutes in a 40 minute class.
When any but the youngest kids are through with lunch, they
normally have a couple of choices of what they can do. They can
stay in the cafeteria, go to the library or an open area in
front of the office, or they can go outside to a designated area
if the weather allows.
Dash claims that what happened is that he went a bit outside
that designated area, didn't hear the bell ring, and just didn't
realize for a while. That sounds unbelievable. Mr. Sanders and
I believe it much more likely he'd sneaked off campus, but we
didn't have any proof. On the other hand, this wasn't the first
time Dash has had an incident like this, and he had admitted to
leaving the designated area no matter where he'd gone. While
some ADHD kids can hyperfocus where things like this happen -
and we know that Dash can do it - if he hadn't gone out of
bounds, someone else would have reminded him or he would have
noticed the other kids leaving, so he put himself in this
situation.
Andy was called, and he did want a bit more than the school
would normally issue in this situation, so, with Mr. Sanders
permission and my agreement, he gave Dash the choice of waiting
until after school or letting me handle it.
Mr. Sanders had someone awaiting him, so Dash and I went to the
conference room. Spanking Dash is something of a balance. He's
a pretty tough kid, and you have to get his attention, but he's
also very small, despite the fact that he's nearly 13 now.
He knew why he was in trouble, and he knows how I spank. I let
him bare himself, put him over my lap, and gave him a spanking
pretty much like Jake would get, using one of the paddles that
would normally be used to swat the younger kids - oval and about
the size of a paddleball paddle, but sturdier than most of them
you find.
Dash had a good hard cry, though he didn't quite lose complete
control of himself.
One thing I will say is that, by going with the non-school
option, Dash and I had a moment to cuddle while he recovered and
before he had to go back to class.

It was good that you were there for Dash. You and Dash have a
relationship. I doubt there would have been the cuddle
afterward had it been the Principal who had spanked him.
Since this was a non-school option, does that mean there wasn't
a witness? How about it going on his disciplinary record? I am
assuming neither of these since you did say, non-school option.

Since BCA is a private school, they have an option most public
schools don't really have - 'CP handled by parent'. In this case
(like with the Tidwell and sometimes the Stouse boys) I am
listed as handled by parental request by Jack Wells.
However, you are right that there was no witness.

It kind of depends on how you define spanking. I try to be
patient with Dash. I have known one or two kids like him
before, so I know to allow for his disability, but I also know
that he needs to be held to standards. I have given him corner
time, I've swatted his butt, and there are a couple of times
that I've given him more than swats to the point of pants down
or bare and over my lap, but still not what I'd call a real
spanking. I think this is the first time I would say that I've
really spanked him.
I should also point out, however, that they don't live close to
here, so Dash isn't here nearly as often as other boys, or
nearly as long. Since his mom gets off at 5pm, he sometimes
comes home with Van or Liam after school, then is picked up
about 5:15 - so not even a full 90 minutes by the time they get
here.
