April 2018 Spanking Report

I've been threatening to do this for a couple of weeks now.
The fact is, there have been some spankings occurring this
month, but not a lot. I think a lot of that has to do with the
weather being nicer, and the boys being able to get outside and
burn off some energy.
Which isn't the same as saying there have been none.
Most of them, I'm afraid I don't know a lot of details about. I
know Glen and Kline got one about the 9th or 10th, which came
about because they'd lied about a chore, so they could go out.
They might have gotten away with it, if they'd been home on
time. I don't think Marcus and Marcia have the same rule I do
about being on time and automatic spankings, but Marcia noticed
the chore hadn't been done, which means the boys had been
dishonest when she asked them, and that's what earned it. I
believe she was cooking, so Marcus handled the details.
I know the Cowell boys got a group session from their dad the
second weekend of this month, and I think the twins got a
session together from their mom - or possibly it was only
Graham, I'm not clear on that. Oh, the twins have just turned
10, and Glenn is coming up on 12 in a few weeks.
I know the youngest Worley boys got it together, but separate
(the other had to wait in the hall). For reference, Billy is 12
now, while Jake isn't quite 14.
As for myself, Devon and Leif each got chore paddlings. The
only other spanking I've given at home was to Curtis.
This was right after Connor's birthday. A friend of his was
supposed to come over, but he (the friend) had spelling and math
homework he hadn't finished, and he was having to finish them
before he could come over. They're third graders, so it wasn't
going to take too long, but Connor was still disappointed. I
suggested that he do his chores while he was waiting, and then
he'd have a little free time that evening for some video gaming
if he wanted. He didn't exactly want, but he did it.
That evening, Connor was enjoying his free time, and Curtis
wanted to know why he couldn't play. I explained that he'd been
playing that afternoon, when Connor had done his chores, so now
it was Connor's turn to play, while Curtis did his chores.
Yeah... Curtis didn't care for that. I reminded him what
deliberately not doing his chores would mean (he only had one
strike, but not doing them would put him over three, even if I
didn't spank for pure disobedience). Of course, since I'm
writing this up, you know he didn't do them. It wasn't an
especially hard spanking, but he'd had a couple of chances to
mind, and he didn't want to take them, so I got him ready for
his bath, reddened his little rear, then he did the chores while
I drew his bath.
Oh, and my little huggabear - Ennis Strouse (who's 11 now, I
believe) got spanked - he was upset at first, since his big
brothers - Lucas (16) and Asher (14) - 'only' got grounded. He
felt better when they had to stay home all weekend, and he got
to Zeke's birthday party with us.

Adric is right - I just slipped and said Connor, in that final
paragraph, not Curtis. I've changed it in the original to make
it clear for future readers.

There was a time when you gave a lot of chores-related spanking,
but recently they don't seem so common, so I was surprised there
were three in a row, all of them to Marsh boys. Only Connor got
away. We know the details of Curtis', but why did Liam and Devon
slip up? I would have expected at least Liam to be above getting
in trouble so childishly.

All right, I think the post is correct now. I was writing this
while watching something, and trying to hurry before chat began.
Distracted is not the best way to right these.
I made several mistakes where I just transposed names. I
believe they've all been corrected now. It was LEIF, not Liam
who got a chore spanking a couple of weeks ago. And while I'm
reporting these all at once, they each were almost a week apart,
as I recall.
As to why LEIF and Devon slipped up... Good question. With
Leif, it was the same thing it's always been. Of the three
Colter boys who stayed here, he's always been the worst at
getting in trouble over chores, and even Colt has been better
about them. I think a lot of Leif's trouble is that he gets
impatient, especially when he's got a new video game or
something, and he rushes through things, leaving chores half
done, or he doesn't check his list and completes stuff.
In this specific case, a game was released the last week of
March (I can't think of the full name - something something:
Revenant Kingdom). As he really got into it, he started rushing
through his chores to get a bit of extra time on the console.
In a 5 day period, I'd given him two strikes and two warnings.
He'd done a work off, but then came one day when he had to badly
done chores (as I recall, he'd obviously scooped Ozzy's liter
box when he was supposed to change it, and he'd left the towels
in the dryer (I remember hearing the buzzer before we ate
dinner). I would usually have let either of those slide, but at
that point, I thought enough was enough. I found him playing
his game, of course; and I gave him a choice - paddling, bare
bottom chores, then corner time, or he could lose his gaming
privileges for a couple of days.
He begged and pleaded, but he ended up here.
Devon's was a bit plainer. It's getting towards the end of
school. It's been pretty nice weather lately (when it's not
raining). It's baseball season. He's in middle school this
year, and he has major projects due in science and history, and
two more book reports in language arts. When he had two
strikes, he decided he didn't want a work off, then he earned
his third strike about two days later. I'm pretty sure it was
just carelessness, but he and I talked about why I have the boys
do chores, about attention to details and being responsible,
then I bared his bottom and gave him a reasonably thorough hand
spanking. When I spanked Leif, he was crying before I finished
(though not too hard). Devon was mostly yelping by the time I
finished with him.

I wanted to mention, while I had time - Ralph has been hanging
out with Emmet and Colt, and he went to see Avengers: Infinity
War with us. He and I get along well, and he's been borrowing
some comics from me. Without going into details, he's been
reading a lot of material that went into the comic story line on
which the movie is loosely based. When we were at Cici's Friday
night, he sat by me, and we were talking about that. There came
a point when the other boys with us had gone back for more
pizza, and things were quiet, so I complimented Ralph on how
he's been behaving in my class, then asked how his other classes
have been going, then 'jokingly' asked if he's been staying out
of trouble at home. He admitted getting a whupping a couple of
weeks ago - same weekend we went to see Rampage. I'm not sure
if I could have gotten details or not, but a couple of the other
boys came back, and he quickly changed the subject.

I've been thinking about this a bit. I know it's true, but I
was wondering why.
I think a lot of it goes back about 9 years now, to Daniel and
Caleb. I once used a fairly laissez faire system with the
chores. I did three strikes, but I allowed as many work offs as
the boys wanted. The thing is, those two boys took advantage of
it, and I ended up having to modify the rules, and I grew more
strict. I know that Noah and Johnny were both resistant to
doing their chores properly, and I think I made the mistake of
letting it grow into a test of wills between us. The same thing
happened with homework folders for a while. As they got older,
and the problems ended, it took me a while, but I finally
mellowed out over it again, before this current batch started
kicking up.
