       Spankable Boys
By: Jack Date: January 25, 2018, 4:13 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
While I think that spanking can actually work on a number of
ages - depending more on the boy and the need than a given age
(which really just says boys are different). Still, I think
that when you really talk about spankable age, what it really
comes down to is about 6 to 12 or 13. That got me to wondering
about how many boys we have who are around here a lot who fall
       into that spankable age.
Of course, the main players in that group are going to be Connor
       (8) and Curtis (7). We also have my 'half-son' (PJ's little
brother) Jake, who'll only be 12 next month. His big brother,
Ryan, is already several months 13, so can probably be
       discounted (or soon will be).
The boys who are in that age group and spend the next most time
here are my grand-sons, Rhett (6) and Ryder (8), Paden (6),
       Glen (9), Kline (10), grand-nephews Ollie (6), Andy (9) (Jake is
about to be 13, so is almost outside of it), as well as my
       undetermined foster grandson, Adam (9).
Of the next boys, while Chas Tidwell is the closest of this
group of unofficial godsons, he's chronologically on the ledge,
and physically he could pass for two or three years older. On
the other hand, the next three are going to be spending more
time over here, especially this summer. Lincoln is 9, Bo is 7,
       and Royce is 5.
Other boys who are spending more time over here, are the younger
brothers of some families I've known forever, like Brandon
       Malone (10), Eli Marchant (10),
There are also families with kids in that age range, whom we've
known for a long time now, but with whom we aren't as close.
There are a lot of reasons for that, but the Knights are a good
example. When we first met them, they were mostly friends of
Van's, since all of the older boys were playing instruments.
While Will is actually a college student now, there youngest son
whom we first met back then, Gavin, is a sixth grader this year,
and will only be 12 in March. The ones whom I barely knew at
that time (and I don't know as well now) are Nathan (10),
Preston, (9), and Birch (6). If you notice, they're the same
age as Marcus' boys, so they've started spending a bit more time
around here than they once did, though their parents are
actually pretty good parents with Marcus and Marcia.
Jake Ames' little brothers - Drew and Luke fall into this age
range as well. I think they're 12 and 10 now. They really
don't come over that often, though. One of Jake's duties/chores
is to pick them up after school and get them home or to the
babysitter's, if required, so his family didn't used to make him
bring them along that much, since Kenny was older than them.
Now, as we have younger kids hanging around more often and in
greater quantity, I've been seeing an uptick in their visits
(and as Jake gets older, I think he has more authority to
correct them, as well as more tolerance for their stunts).
While Thomas Lincoln, who's classmates with Colt, is now 14, I
believe, his little brother is still 11.
Our old friends, Billy and Boyd Tower, still come around for
Scouts, but they don't live that close to us, so don't visit too
often at other times, and they're 12 and 13 now, if I remember
correctly, so just barely on the list anymore.
And, of course, we have a number of Scouts who are in that age
group and are in and out. Most of them only visit as Scouts
(which takes them out of the spanking pool, though it doesn't
mean I can't hear stories), There are also families like the
King's, where their oldest son (Kyle - 10) is a Webelo, but his
little brothers, Kieth (8) and Cody (7) do hang out here, are
friends with Curtis and Connor, and aren't Scouts. There are
also the friends of some of these younger kids - families like
Graham and Grant (both 9) and Glenn (11) Cowell, or the
Hendersons - (friends of PJ and his kid brothers) Kelly (12)
       Dylan (11) and Brennan (9).
You know what's funniest about this? The other day, Van and I
were talking, and he said, "Hey, Dad, remember when you said
that, after Bryce went to college, when me and you were alone,
we might move and get an apartment or something?"
Oh well, Van and I might not have to worry about being lonely,
but the company's usually a lot of fun.

I had planned to wait for a comment before adding anything to
this, but I've kind of ran out of time.
Last week went so well that we're doing something similar this
       week.
It'll be almost 60 the first couple of hours after sundown
tonight. I will have Connor and Curtis, Rhett and Ryder, Paden,
Glenn, and Kline, Ollie and Andy, Adam, Lincoln, Bo and Royce,
Eli Marchant, Brandon Malone, Kieth and Cody King, and the
       Cowell twins.
We're going to play some games as it gets dark, then grill some
burgers, before everyone gets showered, puts on their pajamas,
and heads down to the theater to watch a couple of cartoons and
then probably the Apple Dumpling Gang (Don Knotts and Tin
       Conway).
Should be a fun way for the kids to spend some time together.

Oh! WOW! My kind of an evening.
Two hotdogs burnt. Cold sweet slaw if you have it, otherwise
mustard, ketchup and relish on my dogs.
I love Don Knotts and Tim Conway. They are funny separately and
together. I drove Tim Conway around for a day, once. He is as
       funny off screen as on.
       The Ghost and Mr.Chicken.
       The Incredible Mr.Limpet
Next month for St. Patrick's Day. One of my all time favorite
       movies.
Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

We did The Ghost and Mr. Chicken last week, for Curtis'
birthday, which is what brings us back here tonight.
I'm sure we'll do the incredible Mr. Limpet and others soon, but
we're also going to have to introduce the boys to a performer by
the name of Dick Van Dyke.
