       A Bit of Story

       When I completed All-American Boy, but before I was ready to
       dive back into spanky-lit, I explored a number of different
       ideas for different novels.  Several of them were worked into
       the core concepts of CPHS, but this is one that didn't fit.

       TEST - TO SEE IF I CAN CHANGE THE DOCUMENT.  (Looks like I can.
       It is objecting to my version of Firefox, I think.  Here’s the
       URL it sent me to:

       Mark took a deep breath. He still had his arms wrapped around
       himself, but not quite as tightly. He let one breath go, took
       another, then moved his arms and sat up a bit straighter.
       "Sorry, I'm not usually such a wimp."
       "Hey," Jimmy replied, "Considering what we've been through the
       last couple of years and that your dad is STILL missing... Hell,
       I'm not taking it as well as you are."
       "I just..."
       Mark tensed for just a moment as he felt Jimmy's hand rest on
       his shoulder. It didn't really bother him, but it was
       unexpected.  Jimmy felt the tension and started to pull back,
       but Mark laid his hand over Jimmy's. After a second, Jimmy left
       his hand there, and a moment later, his right hand went to
       Mark's other shoulder, kneading them both briefly.
       "God, your tense. You need a hot shower or something."
       Mark leaned back into the massage for a second, then stood up,
       turning to face the slightly shorter boy.
       "You're a great friend, Jim. How long have we known each other?'
       Jimmy smiled.
       "Just over five years, since we were the new kids in six grade.
       Or was that rhetorical?"
       Mark smiled back.
       "I don't appreciate you enough."
       Jimmy's smile widened.
       "No one does," he quipped, but his eyes went wide as Mark leaned
       towards him.
       "I've been so lonely this summer, Jimmy. i don't know what I
       would have done without you..."
       Jimmy tried to move away, but Mark's hand cupped the back of his
       head. Mark leaned in a bit more and their lips touched.
       Jimmy stiffened, but after a moment, he relaxed. Mark's lips
       opened slightly and closed around Jimmy's pouty lower lip. He
       pulled at it a moment, then his tongue flicked across it.
       Jimmy's eyes widened, then closed, and he leaned into the other
       boy.
       And then Mark snorted.
       Jimmy's eyes shot open and he tried to pull back. Mark’s hand
       shot to his mouth, but he couldn't stop himself.
       "CUT! What happened, Robbie?"
       Robbie tried to speak, but by now he was laughing so hard he
       couldn't force any words out."
       Nearly doubled over with laughter, looking away from the other
       boy, whose offended look only made him laugh harder, Robert
       Cooper, the actor who played Mark, managed to choke out
       "Ch-ch-cherry..."
       Will Barlow, Jimmy's actor, put his hands on his lips and looked
       disgusted.
       "It’s ChapStick. My lips were chapped. Is that a crime?"
       Robby just laughed harder.
       Steven Jones, the director, just shook his head.
       "Take twenty then we'll reset and try it again," he announced.
       Robbie was a great actor and almost always prepared, but this
       wasn't the first time something had hit the boy like this, and
       the only thing to do was let him laugh it out.

       This was intended to be a romance story between two teenage
       actors on a soap opera, who play gay characters (one actor is
       gay, the other is straight), but the straight guy falls in love
       with his co-star.  It's been 2 or 3 years since I wrote that, so
       I doubt anything will be done with it, but I wanted to share it.

       What a nice treat to read even fragments.  Thank you--and if you
       do more with it, I promise I'll read it.
