The first chapter in this series was posted in May 2017, but was
never intended to be a standalone. Wilvalkir and I spent a fair
amount of time discussing it and filling out the background.
However, that was the only story I'd posted in ten months and,
except for re-posting one of my Holiday Serials from here, I
didn't post anything for more than five years.
A couple of months ago, I stared becoming prolific. I finished
Season 04 of Central Point High School, I'd gone back to Dad and
Me after several months, but I also had new ideas, which have
resulted in a couple of standalone or short series, a new series
that should start posting next week, and a return to Family
       Business.
My stories are currently being posted 2 or 3 a week, but I'm a
bit ahead of that on writing (currently, I've submitted enough
stories to last until April at that rate). I'm currently
writing Ch 19 of Family Business. However, the one I just
posted is the most recently completed.
Zyngaru had recently re-read one of my older stories, and we
were discussing a points method of assigning punishments, which
led to a discussion of the Naughty List in FB, and I realized
that I'd never really explained that, so I wrote this story as
both a way to explain the system and to explore how a new boy
coming into the Compound experiences and feels.
The great thing about being this far ahead of a series is, this
is the second time I've 'backdated' a story. The first time was
when we decided a story needed more build up to achieve it's
       full dramatic potential.
This series is being very fun and fulfilling for me to write.
Unlike many stories, this one focuses on a place, and while it
started off being fairly mechanical, it's developed to feature
more and more of the employees at the store and their life
outside the store, while still having plenty of time to explore
       what's happening AT the store.

       Exactly David.
An exceptional concept and an awesome read. I don't know enough
adjectives to explain just how much I love this story. Jack
calls it a series, but for me, it is one continuous story about
the lives of the people you live and work at The Compound.
Yes, I am biased. My favorite story on MMSA.
