I would have counted Fido and Van rooming together, but Fido
sleeps where he wants to sleep. Usually that's with Van, but
he's been known to be found in a morning stretched out on the
couch or in one of the easy chairs, and he does occasionally
like to sleep outside.

This is going to be changing again. Then again, it changes
almost every year anyway, as kids grow up and move away.
The main changes we have outgoing are Joel was just here for one
year, to finish his senior year at BCA. Parker, of course, also
graduated high school, and he'll be leaving for college. Like
Mickey, he won't be close enough for drop in visits, so I'd
imagine we'll only see him for summer, Christmas, and maybe
Thanksgiving, and Spring Break. Barry is due to graduate in
December, Noah and Mickey will be graduating in May, and Josh
and John both might be as well (they have to decide this
semester, IF they have all the right credits), which will be
changing things in a major way, though possibly not until after
next summer.
Of course, it's incoming that really pushes the need to
rearrange.
The garage apartment seems to be working fine for Jeremy and
Ethan. Neither of them spend a ton of time there during the
summer, so it's mostly just a place for them to sleep. The two
of them grew up sharing a room smaller than this one, and
neither of them have complained (where I heard it, at least), so
we're going to leave that as is. Jeremy spends more time there
once school starts, but Ethan's back at his school by then, so
it's not a factor.
This should probably be mentioned in a different post, but
Bridgette and PJ are still living together, and it seems to be
working out for them. I mention that here, because the
Henderson boys are spending more time here than they used to,
which means space needs to be at least kept in mind for them,
but it also might effect how often Jake and Ryan Tucker are over
here.
Upstairs, Kaden and Leif seem to be happy sharing. The two of
them go to differnt schools, so it's not like they're constantly
forced together (and remember - these are big rooms). On the
other hand, while Liam and Zeke get along ago, I had at least
considered giving them their own rooms. With the college boys,
I'll have as many as ten coming home for holidays, and possibly
next summer (depending on the job situations), but we know have
five bedrooms between which to split them, one of which might go
to Zeke.
Pardon me, we HAD[s] five[/s] bedrooms. (EDIT: We still have
five bedrooms. I meant to say we had three empty bedrooms...
sorry for any confusion).
As I've said elsewhere, Chance is definitely moving in with us,
and Craig might be. That means one of the extra bedrooms is
going for Chance, and I need to look at the entire downstairs
situation again (what works over the summer might be too crowded
for school nights, with tighter bedtimes, fast moving mornings,
and homework).
I've actually talked this over with Chance, and I think we're
going to set his room up with multiple beds. It might cut back
a bit on his space, but it'll still be more than he had in a
college dorm (or a foster home) and more privacy as well. I'm
also wondering if that might be the way to go with Zeke and
Liam, though I'm afraid Zeke will spread out to fill as much
room as he has. As for downstairs... I'm not sure how fast
we'll get word on Craig, but I'm going to plan on him being
here, and we'll just have to say how the rest goes.
Oh, and while looking around for inspiration, i've also decided
we need to move the furniture out, give the rooms a deep clean,
and repaint again.

Repainting is a good idea. Gives the rooms a clean and fresh
look and smell.

All of the college boys are going to be back in school.... Well,
once again Mickey starts last and he starts 28 August. Most of
the boys start 26 August, and John has the earliest start on 19
August. John is actually catching an early flight tomorrow, so
he can get moved in, run some errands, then spend the weekend
with some friends and be ready for school to start on Monday.
All of the college boys are leaving by next Friday (a week from
tomorrow - the 23rd), and my younger boys will be back in school
by then. At that point, I'll have three bedrooms empty (plus
the guest rooms on the other side of the house).
Because Mike Guice is a grad student, he'll be leaving Monday.
We need to get Chance out of the apartment he's in right now, so
he'll be moving into the room Mike is using right now, as soon
as Mike is gone.
I've talked with Mr. Mintz, and he has some workers who are
good, all purpose workers, who need some extra hours. Starting
26 August, they'll be moving furniture from the empty bedrooms
in the morning, then re-painting them. After that's done,
we'll have the carpets and flooring cleaned. Probably on the
28th, we'll be able to empty the other two upstairs bedrooms,
and do the same to them.
Upstairs, we're still going to have Zeke and Liam in one bedroom
and Kade and Leif in another. Chance will get a third to
himself. After the cleaning is done, we're going to move Kenny
and Colt upstairs. Connor and Curtis will still have a bedroom
downstairs and so will Van. The other two downstairs bedrooms
will be Ryan Tucker and Devon in one and Craig and Jake in the
other.

I had to run up to work today, make sure everything was ready to
go, and print off my weekly reports. Now I'm back home. The
contractor crew is here, moving furniture out of the two
bedrooms in the teen area that the college boys used, as well as
the one that was Parker and Joel's last year. WE have a
cleaning crew coming in about 30 minutes to do a heavy cleaning,
we decided to clean the carpets first, and they'll be putting
wall to wall plastic down before they paint. The humidity gets
down into the 30s during the afternoon, and it's going to be
over 100F/33C, so we'll just open the windows and put fans in
the doors, and we should be able to start painting tomorrow.
Then we can move the furniture into the clean rooms and start on
the next set. We're also doing the teens' room and the play
room this time (as well as my office and bedroom and the guest
rooms), so we should have it all done by the end of next week.
