"The Board of Education" MMSA story by Paddle Me and D

Here's a really terrific 100% believable and seamlessly
collaborative WHASS story by Paddle Me and David M. Katz:
Novelty and Souvenir Paddles -

This is a great multi-generational story to bring back memories
(for those of us old enough to have them) of what used to be and
probably sometimes still is. Lots of realistic touches that
help to make the story completely credible.

I loved it too. Even more than their first story together,
which I also loved.

Thank you for the positive comments. This story is really Katz's
idea and I had the opportunity to work with a good spanko
friend. I have been absorbing (rather like a sponge--to steal
from Seinfeld, does that make me "sponge worthy?") his, Adric's
and St. George's skills in collaborations with each of them. I
am a lucky (but oh-so naughty!) boy.
The novelty/souvenir paddle challenge was inspired by Adric's
interactive story but it hit me on one of my long-time
obsessions. I grew up--and still do--gravitating to those
jocular paddles sold at places like Stukeys. By the way, last I
knew, you can still occasionally see them for sale. My personal
opinion is that they are theoretically meant as gag gifts but
they are really there for help frustrated parents on their
family vacations with naughty kids.
Anyone who feels inspired, please join us in the challenge at
MMSA

Thanks for the shout out and for the kind words from PaddleMe.
It was a fun story to work on and the story in a story concept
screamed collaboration.
As far as the availability of the paddles in today's times, yes
they are. A fellow author recently was on a trip in the SW
United States and stumbled upon this in a souvenir shop:

He sent me the picture. I actually used it for a BOTD.

I also loved the second story. Haven't seen PM to tell him, but
left a message.

Thanks for the compliment on my story, afinch. I am a paddle
enthusiast, so to speak, and have long been fascinated by these
paddles. BTW, Katz's friend who sent that photo is correct. You
can still see these paddles at certain gift shops. Even
Stuckey's, who I think we all remember for their displays of
them, still sold them at a store I visited along the highway
several years ago. You have to love these little paddles for
being one of the places our spanko interests intersect with the
non-spanko interests.
