       "Rainbow Patrol" by Pixote

       It is my distinct pleasure and privilege to recommend this
       recent MMSA submission, from one valued fellow author that I
       finally managed to persuade to give the site a try and offer up
       a story!  Linked below:

       Synopsis: Story setting is within the broader context of a
       "return to traditional values" for youngsters living on the
       enormous Navajo Nation American Indian Reservation, hearkening
       to how indigenous American Indians used to raise their young
       children, both boys and girls alike, before they were forced to
       accept the values of "the white man." This narrative follows a
       young boy who wants to join the Rainbow Patrol, a special unit
       within BSA Troup 69 for boys who are gay. The patrol enjoys
       special outings for their members and special invitees. The boy
       knows he will be required to pass an initiation to join, but has
       no idea what this initiation will encompass. With the return to
       traditional values, the kid doesn't realize just how deeply this
       experience is going to test his resolve and fortitude...
       (NOTE: The above synopsis is shamelessly copy/pasted from the
       author's own personal emails with me, with only minor
       alterations on my part...)
       Still, what could be better for a boy like our main character
       Aiden, than waking up on the morning of his 13th birthday and
       starting his day off with a hot and steamy shower -- joined by
       another cute boy, who's already went through his own initiation?
       [emoji50] [emoji6] Scarcely could the boy ever predict, however,
       that the day's events shall only become increasingly hotter and
       steamier...

       Superb in every way.
