Dylan - Lorna Devin at MMSA

This is a beautiful story! Be advised that it is long but well
worth the time. Settle in and be sure to have some tissues
handy.
Dylan is a foster child in search of his biological father.
Dylan finds the man but things are not as cut and dried as one
may think. The story is an emotional roller coaster as the
author delves deeply into Dylan's deepest thoughts and emotions.
This one will keep you on the edge of your seat and on the edge
of your emotions.
Not to be missed.

Posted my own recommendation before I saw yours. I totally
agree. One of the finest stories I've ever read here. It's
been about fifteen minutes since I finished it and I still can't
stop crying.

Same here. I saw Afinch's first and commented there.
Feel free to move mine to this one or copy it or whatever.

Totally agree. If you are looking for a quick spanking scene,
you won't be satisfied here. But if stories with lots of
emotional impact fascinate you, and ones who delve deep into the
protagonists thoughts and feelings, don't miss this.

It's very long, and very emotional. One of the greatest stories
I have ever read on this forum, and worth all the time it will
take to read. Not to be missed. I'm old and sentimental.
Getting teary-eyed reading happens all the time, but open
weeping, three times, is very rare.

I totally agree.
It's going on 4 am. I think I started reading this around
midnight. Yes, it's long. But don't stop thinking about
returning later to finish it. Please don't do that. This is
NOT a parts and parcel story. It's one fluid tale, that needs
to be read as one continuous story.
I'm emotional, so yes, the emotions get to me and yes, I got
angry and sad, and I cried, but mostly, I was in awe of the
greatness of this story. It was like reading a boy's life
story.
The adults act real to life. The kids act real to life. but
mostly the lead character acts true to his life, as seen from
his viewpoint. This character is a testament to a boy's will to
survive.
Just read it.

I copied my comments from the other thread here also, so it
makes sense.

I just finished reading the same author's other two stories.
They are quite similar in length and emotion. The first, Ethan,
was an extraordinary. The second, Landon, made me furious.
They are both well worth reading.

Oh, wow -- seriously? [emoji15] So this means I'm, in fact, not
the only person who felt such a way, after reading that one...?
Well, then -- very good to know! [emoji106]

HBB, sent you a PM. Saying what I need to say would be too much
of a spoiler for here.

I think "Landon" is supposed to end "happily ever after" but, in
my opinion, the damage is way too deep. It is still a superb
story wrought with emotion but I absolutely despise Landon's
father.

David, I wanted to kill him. Or at least assault him. I'm not
sure I've ever read a spanking story that made me so viscerally
angry at a parent.
I actually reached out to Lorna after highly complimenting Dylan
with my concerns. She felt if I felt that way, she'd succeeded
because she WANTED to make the readers furious with the father.
She didn't (and neither you nor I apparently did either) think
that this was a story that would end "happily ever after",
although hopefully some progress could be made towards it not
being a total disaster.
She also said that "Ethan" was her favorite of the three. For
me, it's strongly team Dylan.
