Pictures of two boys
By: Plagosus Date: August 19, 2022, 5:15 pm

I have a number of pictures saved which I keep looking at in the
hope that they will inspire a few more BOTDs. I have just
realised that quite a few of them (twelve in fact) are of two
prep school boys standing or sitting near each other doing
nothing in particular. Is there an explanation for that?

I'm not a shrink, but I would say,
"It's what you identify with."
Only you can answer why you identify with them.

Isn't that a BOTD question in itself?

What I meant was, why are there so many photos of two boys
standing or sitting near each other doing nothing in particular?

I assume all those such pictures were taken by one of the
teachers at those prep schools under the excuse of building a
picture library of school activities (or non-activities in
Plagosus' twelve), but also because he enjoyed looking in
private at pictures of interestingly posed young boys in
short-trousered uniforms.
And then came the Internet so we can all share his pleasure.
Better not to analyse. If the god hadn't meant us to gaze at
boys' bare legs she wouldn't have given them two each!

Is this the sort of pic you had in mind Plag?

Not quite, no. They are not prep school boys and they are
actually doing something.

If the question is why do boys hang out in twos?
Because they do. Boys are social animals also. Well, most.
I'm not. But most boys will hang out in twos. Then one pair,
meet up with another pair and they play ball. Baseball,
football, soccer. Usually, some kind of game or other.
Two really isn't enough for that kind of game, so they hang out
and talk, gossip, dream, and such until another pair comes
along.
Girls on the other hand, hang out in gangs. Just watch them go
to the restroom at a restaurant or any other public place. One
will announce she's going and the next thing every girl around
them is also going.
Back to boys. Here where I live, I get to observe the kids of
the neighborhood, and boys will go past my house in pairs. They
will go from one boy's house and stay for a while, and then they
will go past my house to the other boy's house for a while, and
then back to the first boy's house. Sometimes they will hang
out at the greenspace across from my house to see if another
pair show up to play basketball or some other game and if they
don't, it's back to one of the boy's houses. to hang out.
It's their nature. I doubt if they even realize they are doing
it. It's the social norm.
I don't know if that answers your question or not, because I
seem to be missing the point of your question.

Not quite, no.
It suddenly came to me that I had a lot of clearly posed
pictures showing two prep school boys not engaged in doing
anything. I then asked myself: Why are all these pictures being
taken showing two prep school boys not engaged in doing
anything.

Assuming they are not brothers taken by a parent, then perhaps
they are just simply best friends taken by another classmate
