The Truant Boy's Tale - MMSA Poem by DMK

"Stick to writing stories": That is what the one ( and likely
only) piece of feedback on my latest had to say. To which I
politely replied saying that sometimes I write solely for my own
entertainment.
Yes, my latest is NOT prose. For the fourth time in almost
twelve years, I have ventured into the world of poetry. Why?
Because I said to myself, "I want to write a poem." I like it
except the meter got away from me on this one but it is still
very readable.
"The Truant Boy's Tale" tells of the woes of Chuck who asks to
stay home from school and what happens when he is denied. It
seems though that Chuck cannot take responsibility for his
actions and wants to blame the three spankings he ends up with
in the course of a single day on some force other than his own
actions.
It has been made part of the collection of my other "Tales" in
the poem series "The Bared Bottom Tales" where you can find all
four times where I should have stuck to writing stories.

It's very enjoyable. It also tells a story, albeit not in prose.
Good job, Katz.
