Editing Quotes

Folks, the quoting function can be a lot of help. When you want
to address one specific thing from someone's post, editing the
rest out can make it a lot easier to have a direct conversation.
Having said that, allow me to point out one thing - be careful
while you're editing.
Twice today, I had to correct problems where someone deleted all
or part of a close quote "[/quote]"
When you are editing a quote, please make sure you have both the
begin and end quote signs, and that you have the same number of
each. Otherwise, your new comment will be marked part of what
you're quoting, and it gets hard for the readers to find what
you're saying.
Thanks.

The message preview button can be very useful for checking to
see if quotes have been properly edited without any broken
BBcode or quotes going on the longer than intended.
