I want to call attention to this outstanding debut story by a
new author.
I love stories with a feel of realism to them and I love stories
about wayward boys with a strong male role model in their lives.
This one has all of that and more. Micah and his friend are
caught shoplifting and Micah thinks he has a ticket to the easy
way out when his young uncle is the one who comes to collect
him. Micah learns a lot about himself, his family, and most
importantly about his relationship with his uncle.
A superb story. Another quality WHASS offering.
I recommend highly!

Agreed. This is a very enjoyable story with a realistic feel.
Daniel could have been the patsy that Micah thought he would be,
but fortunately he was not. DMackenzie does a good job of
portraying Micah's bratty attitude.

I agree--I reread it twice. There are a couple of times where
POVs or times shift, if one is being technical. That didn't
matter a bit--it's a very well written, "realistic" story.

It's a nice story, but quite short and nowhere as emotional as
the first one.

It was well-written but the emotional dynamic that was
established with Micah and Daniel wasn't there with the cocky
vegan nephew in this second story. I also prefer t stories over
a stories and so that also informed my comments to some extent.
I do think the second story is worth a read but the impact and
character dynamics of the first story are just not there.
****I can say that this author has just submitted a second story
with Micah and Uncle Daniel that is just as beautifully done as
the first. Lily also features more prominently in this story. I
have it on hold in my queue waiting to hear back from the author
about details concerning a possible series. I will post here in
this thread when it is available.

Interesting responses.
I am evidently on a different page to you as I considered the
spanking was way ott and amounted to brutality. Not what I'd
expect for a WHASS story.

Oh well, it's an adult spankee and it's a story, and I have read
much more OTT spankings. This is no Juan Santiago.
I don't know, I don't really feel like asking authors to cater
to a narrow definition of what a WHASS story should be. Let
writers enjoy themselves, and if they do, chances are they'll
find readers.
I mean, even wholesome WHASS stories need to be taken with some
suspension of disbelief, particularly series where the same boy
is always getting spanked.
Coming back to the story, I thought the characterization was
true to type.. for me it was fine, just shorter and not as
emotionally intense as the first.
So, if by any chance the author ends up reading this: you will
never please everybody... Start with pleasing yourself (in a
literary rather than literally manner) and you'll be fine.
