Chapter One
I was stretched out on my bed. It was the middle of the
Thanksgiving vacation - Thanksgiving was tomorrow - and I was
finally getting some time to myself.
Two. Freaking. Weeks! Since Mom had taken my tablet, and just
because I got a little behind on school work. Middle school is
HARD. And my phone, too. Two freaking weeks and it seemed like
all I heard was ‘homework, homework, homework.’ If I wasn’t
having to do that day’s work, it was make up work, or studying
for tests. You’d think after I’d done all that and my chores, I
could have at least had my phone back to play games for a bit,
but no. After all that, I hadn’t even had time to go out and
play a little bball most days.
Thanksgiving break finally gets here, and I have to use the time
to get all my work caught up, and Mom just says it’ll teach me
not to get behind again. And THEN, when that’s all finally
done, she wants me to do extra chores. At least I’d got to
sneak out for a while Monday, while she was at work, and shoot
some hoops with Brody and the guys.
That was, however, maybe the only good thing about Mom and Dad
being divorced. If Dad had heard half the whining and griping
Mom had put up with, he would have made sure I’d done some
crying as well.
But now, now that all that was done. I had my phone and tablet
back, and the vacation still wasn’t better. It turns out the
tablet and phone hadn’t even been the worst part. When Mom
finally agreed to give them back, I found out I wasn’t going to
get to see Dad again this year.
When Mom and Dad first divorced, everything was…well, hardly
good, but it was okay. I got visitation, and we got to do some
stuff together. Dad made it clear that there wasn’t a lot of
money to spend, since it cost more for two people to live apart
and have to rent different apartments and everything, but we
still did stuff, and it seemed like I got more time with him.
In a lot of ways, it was awesome.
And then Dad moved.
I understand why. Dad loves me, but he had a chance to make a
great career move. The problem was it meant moving from a few
minutes away to a few states away. He’d moved to Boise, Idaho,
which made visitation a lot more of a problem. We’re supposed
to see each other three times a year, but now here it is, more
than a year since I’ve seen him - thirty days until Christmas,
and only twenty-three days until Christmas Vacation started, and
they were telling me I won’t be able to see him again.
The real trouble wasn’t how long it had been since I got to see
Dad. It was that it was going to be a lot longer. Money was
already tight, with my parents living separately, but they’d
both had a lot of bad luck this past year, with me and Mom both
getting the flu bad and her having to miss work, and Dad having
to get a new car. Maybe I’ll be able to see him at Spring
Break, but if money’s too tight now, who knows?
When they told me they couldn’t afford to fly me out, I did some
research. I picked up my tablet again and opened a page I’d
saved. I told them I could take a bus, but they both agreed
(practically the only thing they did agree on, it seems like)
that I was too young to take a bus from Cleveland to Boise by
myself. Trains wouldn’t even let me ride by myself. I rubbed
the back of my hand across my eyes again. I wish they weren’t
so dry. I’d planned to watch some shows, but I just couldn’t
concentrate.
I was digging through my toy box, looking for something to do,
when there was a knock on my door.
“Yeah, Mom - C’min,” I said. Not much mystery who it was, since
the two of us lived alone.
She was smiling like Sylvester did, before he remembered
catching Tweety was a bad thing. She’d been trying hard to
cheer me up, and I didn’t really want to hear what it was this
time.
“That was your Uncle Dave on the phone.”
“Yeah?” I asked, perking up a bit.
Uncle Dave was really cool. He was Dad’s little brother - seven
or eight years younger. Dad had just turned thirty-five a
couple of months ago, but Uncle Dave was still only
twenty-eight. Uncle Dave was a long haul trucker. He was gone
most of the time, but he had an apartment not too far from us -
out by the Museum of Natural History and Case Western. It
wasn’t real big, and he shared it with some other guy, but the
other guy was a trucker too, and they were hardly ever home at
the same time. When Dad couldn’t come last summer, it was Uncle
Dave that had spent some time with me and some of my cousins
(they were like, first cousins once removed or second cousins or
something, since Uncle Dave didn’t have any kids yet, and him
and Dad were Granny and Pop’s only kids).
“He says he can take you to go see your father.”
“He can?” I said, so excited I nearly let the chest lid slam on
my fingers. I snatched them back and sucked at one finger tip
that stung a bit.
Mom tried not to laugh as she nodded her head.
“He’s checked with his bosses, and he can be here to pick you up
the day after you get out of school, and he should be able to
drop you off late evening on the 23rd. It’s not as good as
flying, but it’s safer than the bus and a lot cheaper. Are you
interested?”
I didn’t have to think twice.
“I sure am!”
“Text him your e-mail. He says he needs to send you some
instructions before then, so you’ll be ready to travel.”
Once Mom had gone, I picked up my tablet again, opening it to my
photo album. All my photos were sorted and tagged carefully,
and it was easy to find the two solo pictures of Uncle Dave I
wanted. One of them showed him standing next to his semi. The
weather was pretty obviously cold. You could see him head to
feet, from his Storm Chaser boots, to his jeans, to his orange
and green flannel shirt (untucked but buttoned over a dark green
thermal top) - stylish but functional, and so cool.
The other picture was from just this past summer, when Uncle
Dave had taken me and Rory camping. He was wearing a pair of
khaki cargo shorts and a short sleeved, camo shirt that was open
over his bare chest.
It was only later that I had second thoughts. Not that I
regretted the choice or even considered reversing it. It would
be worth almost anything to get to visit Dad at this point. More
than that, Uncle Dave is awesome, and the trip would be a gift
in itself. It’s just that I couldn’t help remembering what had
happened last summer.
***************************************
Gavin and his cousin Rory didn’t really look that much alike.
Oh, both of them had the same medium-dark brown hair, but so did
probably more than half the caucasian kids Gavin went to school
with. Both boys had the tall, but solid build that most of the
guys on that side of the family had. Both of them even had blue
eyes, though the shades weren’t really that close. What they
didn’t have was similar features - Gavin’s lips were fuller,
Rory’s cheeks were rounder, Rory’s nose was wider through the
bridge, and Gavin’s eyes stuck out a bit more. One might
suspect they were related, but not really so close as brothers.
Whether they looked alike or not never bothered them. Neither
did the fact that the two boys were about eighteen months apart.
Gavin wouldn’t be twelve until early fall, while Rory was
already thirteen. The thing is, Rory’s next oldest brother was
only nine, and Jake - their sixteen year old cousin - thought
both of them were still little kids. The two of them had
gravitated to each other as soon as they were old enough to
play, and they’d been close friends most of their lives.
That’s why Uncle Dave had picked the two of them to take
camping. Gavin’s dad not being able to make visitation was
reason enough to take him, and with their younger kids, it was
hard for Rory’s parents to do much with him that was age
appropriate. The two boys were intensely grateful to Uncle Dave
for the invitation.
Which isn’t to say there weren’t conditions.
“What did I say to you?” Uncle Dave asked, sitting on a camp
stool while the two boys stood in front of him.
The two boys stood silent for a long moment.
“Well?”
“To stay right here while you were gone,” Rory replied softly.
“Was that confusing?”
Gavin shook his head, as his cousin replied, ‘no’.
If Uncle Dave had been mad or yelling, it might have been
better. Instead, he was intense, but quiet, and definitely not
mad. Then he shook his head.
“Guys, you didn’t want to shower. I’m fine with that, since
it’s quicker to go by myself,” he said, referring to the small
dirt bike that stood by the truck. “But, I told you to stay
here for a reason. I trust you guys not to get in blatant
trouble, but we’re isolated. There’s no cell reception out
here. The most important thing is, I don’t know everyone around
here. Even if there’s just an accident, me - with my first aid
experience - would be better than nothing. And, God forbid, if
someone should do something to you…. Me knowing where you are
could make a huge difference if there’s a problem, which is why
I told you to stay here while I was gone, understand?”
Both boys did, and nodded. Gavin tried to speak, but his tongue
was thick in his mouth. Both boys also felt very guilty. They
hadn’t wanted to shower today, having spent most of yesterday in
the lake and showering afterwards, but Dave had wanted to shower
and shave to start his day. He’d agreed to leave the two boys
at the camp site while he made a quick run to the showers -
which admittedly was much faster than if he’d had to pack up the
truck to go or if the three of them had walked. Then, when he
came back, he nearly panicked when the boys were gone. They
hadn’t realized they’d wondered out of earshot. Fortunately,
they had guessed fairly close as to how long Dave might be gone,
and they heard him calling for them quickly.
“Are you two ready to head home today?”
“I thought we were hiking today,” Rory protested.
“I thought you two were going to mind me. Now answer the
question.”
“No, sir,” both boys quickly agreed. Neither of them wanted to
cut their trip short.
Dave looked around the campsite. It was isolated, but it only
took him a moment to make a decision, especially since the early
morning hadn’t really started to warm up that much.
“Let’s go into the tent,” Dave instructed them.
“Why?” Gavin asked, curious more than contrary.
“Because, you two disobeyed me, and I won’t tolerate that when
I’m in charge - especially not in a situation like this. I’m
about to wear your rears out, and I don’t think either one of
you wants to be hanging bare ass in the wind while waiting your
turn.”
Gavin sobbed at the news. Rory managed to keep quiet, but he
looked as shocked as Gavin felt.
Gavin was wearing a pair of cargo shorts, held at the waist by a
cloth belt. Rory was only wearing a pair of basketball shorts.
At Uncle Dave’s direction, Rory slid his fingers into the
waistband of his shorts, and they and his boxer briefs started
to slide down. Then he paused and watched while Gavin fumbled
with the belt, then with the fly, so the younger boy could catch
up with him.
While the boys were doing that, Uncle Dave sat on the ground
with his legs crossed, decided that wouldn’t work so stretched
them out in front of him. Sitting up that way seemed a bit
uncomfortable, so he tried tucking one up a bit. After a
moment, he sighed and got up on his knees.
Dave glanced at the boys. Both of them had gotten their shorts
and boxers down and they puddled around both boys knees. Rory
was practically naked, and Gavin’s t-shirt was short enough it
offered him no protection or modesty.
Dave quickly zipped his sleeping bag and started to roll it. It
was three feet wide and over six feet long, so it was plenty
large enough for what he intended.
Rory fidgeted a bit, but was mostly trying to act casual. In
seventh grade, they’d had to shower after gym class, and he was
used to being naked around other guys. Still, this seemed
different. Heck, he thought, his face warming with a blush, it
was actually pretty embarrassing that he was about to get
spanked. He didn’t see a belt or anything, so he wondered if
Uncle Dave was really going to treat him like a little kid.
Gavin, on the other hand, was trying hard not to check out his
older cousin. He wasn’t in middle school yet. He wasn’t used
to being seen n‍aked or seeing other boys that way. On
the other hand, he’d seen Rory naked a couple of times and he
would have sworn their d‍icks were about the same size.
Of course, he knew what puberty was, but he hadn’t really
understood what it meant, and he couldn’t believe that Rory’s
balls were huge, his d‍ick was like four inches long, and
he couldn’t even guess how thick it was. Rory even had hair!
Rory was trying to be so nonchalant, and Gavin was trying to
check out his cousin without seeming like he was checking out
his cousin, and neither of them noticed when Uncle Dave finished
rolling his sleeping bag, snapped the quick cord to hold it in a
roll, then turned it longwise to himself.
“Over that.”
With that reminder of what was in store, both boys moaned. On
the other hand, they both knew Uncle Dave had been serious when
he threatened to cut their trip short, so they shuffled into
position.
The boys knelt down where Dave had pointed, and laid across the
roll. Dave took their hips and adjusted each of them. He gave
each bottom a firm pat, adjusted his position just a bit, leaned
down so his arm was across their backs, and went to work.
Gavin felt vulnerable with his rear up in the air and his legs
slightly spread. Then there were a couple of slaps and the hiss
of indrawn breath before a couple of more slaps smacked down,
this time drawing a yelp from him as his bottom was suddenly
stung.
Uncle Dave wasn't fooling around. Once he was sure he had the
aim, he went to town and the sound of smacks and boys cries
filled the air. Rory, being the older and bigger boy, tried to
hold them in, but Gavin didn't notice. He was yelping right
from the start, and as swat after swat peppered his little butt,
he was quickly crying. Uncle Dave was working back and forth,
but he’d noticed Rory’s bigger size, and he made sure that the
older boy’s bigger rear got not just the same ratio of spanks,
but a little more for good measure.
Dave was mostly using his wrist, but he couldn’t help but get
some elbow into it, especially as he leaned across Gavin to
smack Rory again, and both boys were quickly feeling it. Swats
fell fast and firm, and in well less than a minute, both boys
were crying hard and loud.
Hearing that, Dave paused and examined the pair of red bottoms
displayed before him, and decided it was good.
****************************
More than four months had gone by since that camping
trip. Remembering it, I slid down my pants and boxers, I’d
definitely grown quite a bit since then - though I’m still not
as big as Rory.
I also remembered how red Rory’s butt had been when Uncle Dave
told us to get up and how much my own had burned. Bending down
to pick my clothes up from where I’d kicked them off was not
fun, and the slow, careful way Rory did it made it look like he
felt the same. We’d dressed slowly, drank some water from the
cooler just outside the tent (and splashed handfuls in our
faces), and apologized to Uncle Dave for acting up. He assured
us it was all okay now, and within an hour or so, the spanking
was forgotten and the three of us were having fun again.
Yeah, Uncle Dave could be a lot of fun, and he was a great guy
for being willing to do this, but I promised myself then and
there that I was going to be really careful to mind this trip.

Nice holiday story! Looks like Gavin may be overdue for another
butt warming, judging by his attitude towards his mom's
discipline.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
I wasn't expecting this. I remember you saying how little time
you had for writing and thought the Christmas story was a thing
of the past.
This is a great surprise though. I miss reading your stories.
I am so looking forward to Gavin's big adventure.
Spanking two boys at the same time in a camping tent. Uncle
Dave sure had to work out the logistics of that one. Finding
room to swing your arm. Room to kneel. Room for the boys to
bend over with their long legs and arms having someplace to
extend to. Yes, that was a feat for sure.
I love that Gavin is eleven. Perfect Peter Pan age. Old enough
to not only dislike being spanked but old enough to feel
embarrassed about being spanked. Yet at the same time young
enough that getting spanked is a normal and usual punishment.
Yep. I am so going to enjoy this story.
Thank you very much Jack, for writing again.
