31 January 2020 - Colds

I haven't had a lot to write about lately. The college kids
have all been gone for a couple of weeks now and things are
quiet. Of course, as a business, there's a lot of tax things to
do, but I have an accountant to handle most of that, and I keep
my files up to date, so I don't have a huge rush with it at this
time.
Our weather here has been a roller coaster the past few weeks.
I remember one day when it was in the 70s, the humidity was
high, and everyone was miserable. The next day it was about 40F
(5C) and raining.
The kids have had a cold going around the past week or so.
Mostly sneezing and some stopped up noses (then, randomly and
with no warning, running like a faucet). Some coughing, but no
fever.
Last Friday (I think), I had a nice lunch with some of my
younger friends. We went out to a Mexican buffet (like Panchos,
if you're familiar with that, but locally owned). I took Huck,
Clayton, Zack Franklin, Jeremy, Chance, Zeke, Barrett, Joe
Mintz, Perry, Garrett, and Jake Hernandez. I'd asked a few
other people who weren't able to make it. It's fun. It's a way
to keep up with what's happening with them, the stores, and kids
in general. Today, I've arranged to have a luncheon with most
of my store managers and some of the assistants. No particular
business reasons - just most of them are my friends.

I just hope you are able to keep the flu out of the family.
Around here, instead of the flu, we have a virus going around,
that docs are saying isn't the flu but it still makes kids sick
with a bad cough. Something like a chest cold. The funny thing
is, the docs are sending the kids back to school, saying it
isn't contagious? Isn't that the definition of a virus, is that
it is contagious. But then again, you really can't keep kids
out of school, just because they are coughing.
