       Before I forget, I need to mention that Craig has had his second
       run in with CP.  This actually happened on Monday afternoon, I
       believe (I've been a bit under the weather, so I'm behind on a
       few things).
       This was not a big deal.  Craig screwed up on time management
       and came home after 6:30pm.  For those who don't remember, the
       kids are supposed to be home by 6pm, and thirty minutes late is
       automatic trouble, unless there's a very good behavior (one's
       bike breaking, for instance).
       The thing is, Craig is 14 now - he's not in high school, but
       he's much closer to Kenny and Colt or Devon than to Connor and
       Curtis and the grands.  He's also very well behaved.  I felt
       like something I would do with an older kid would have been
       appropriate - restrict him to the house for a couple of days.
       Nope, Craig wasn't having it.
       I had no intention of giving a 14-year old a full spanking for
       this (especially considering it's not been an ongoing problem
       for him).  I finally took him to my room, had him drop his pants
       and shorts, and put him sideways over the massage table, and
       used the bath brush.  That thing burns enough I knew it wouldn't
       take much.  Eight firm swats had him crying loud enough for me
       to hear, so I let him get up and dress.  A hug and face wash
       later, and he joined us in the dining room.

       Why wasn't he having it? Because he did not want to be grounded
       or because he perceives getting the ocasional spanking as being
       a part of the family.

       I'm curious about this myself.
       Also, is there any evidence he was that late on purpose?  Again
       testing boundaries and making sure he is still wanted.

       I honestly couldn't tell.  My gut feeling is that he didn't want
       to be 'treated differently', though this is the same way I would
       have treated any well-behaved boy that moved in at his age.

       Based on how he came in (rushed and slightly panicky), I'm
       assuming it was just an honest mistake.
