First of all, allow me to make a minor correction (or alteration
if probably more accurate). The charity concert is scheduled
for this Saturday night, both so we can get it done before
school lets out, and so that we have time to get the food and
toys distributed in time for Christmas. That was also the day
when we were going to have our Scout Christmas gathering. We
were lucky enough to be able to reschedule that to Sunday
afternoon.
Second, I thought I'd let everyone know when the College kids
will be arriving home.
Starting with the guests - I think Christian Hogan will be
arriving Friday and Jake will be here on Saturday. They're both
going to stay to visit some friends, and they'll be flying out
next Wednesday.
Greg will be home first this year. He gets out Wednesday. We
looked at a few things, and discussed some possibilities. He's
going to stay over Wednesday night and hang with some friends,
then wake up Thursday morning and head home. He should be here
Thursday afternoon.
It looks like Ryan will be home next. He and Thomas will be
arriving Friday afternoon. They're going to stay here a couple
of days, to see Last Jedi and the charity concert, and then
they'll be taking off to spend a few days with Thomas' family.
Ryan is planning to be home Thursday, in time for Cousin's
Night. The first part is also true for KC.
I should mention that Sean will also be home Friday, and we've
reserved a Star Wars ticket for him. Parker is happy.
John also gets out on the 15th, but he's going to take advantage
of one of the benefits of being so far from home. He and some
friends are going skiing Saturday, and he'll stay with a local
friend, then fly home Sunday.
Depending on their class schedules, the UT boys (Bryce, Johnny,
Josh, Barry, Noah, and Blake) won't be through until NEXT Wed,
12/20, though they should be home that same day.
And Mickey also finishes that day, but he'll be fying in, so
won't arrive until Thursday afternoon.
Oh yeah - I forgot that Mike Guice is a UT boy now. He has to
stay a day later, since he's an assistant, but he'll be free
first thing in the morning, so he'll be home relatively early
Thursday 12/21.
And Jeremy gets out of school Friday, but he's going to stick
around to hang with some friends. He'll be home Wed 12/20, the
way it stands right now.

Mickey always seems to get out of school a little later than the
others. Jack, the UT boys all have cars, right? Out of
curiosity, do they carpool back and forth or do they bring all
their cars with them? I just had an entertaining image of six
cars in a row, trailing after one another.
I'm excited for Kaden to meet your college boys, especially
after that joke Barry made about buying you a new set of kids.
Is Kaden ready for how busy it gets around the holidays there?
:)

When I was in high school, I had friends who attended Dartmouth,
Cornell and Princeton, and it seemed to me there schedule was
slightly off what the colleges here had. Mickey does attend a
school that (we around here consider) NE, and he does seem to
start and finish several days later than most of the other boys.
As a matter of fact, it seems like he's either finishing a bit
early, or the UT boys are finishing late.
Also, he has to fly, which means it takes him a bit longer to
get home. The UT boys finish at almost the same time as Mickey
this year, but Mickey is going to wait until the next day,
instead of trying to deal with everything in the evening, after
finishing his finals.

They had all been taking cars, but didn't this year. There's
not that much need to leave campus, and they have a pretty good
public transport system. When they came home for shorter times
in previous years, they wouldn't bring all the cars, so this
semester, Bryce and Josh left theirs here. They're probably
not even going to take that many next semester.
The one advantage is that, if they'd all taken their cars, Bryce
would be able to come home a little earlier than the other boys.
Especially this year, with Barry and Noah being upperclassmen,
there's a bit more variety in their schedules. Bryce doesn't
seem to mind too much. He says he's just going to sprawl out
with his laptop and binge Netflix while waiting for the rest to
finish up.

He's heard, but I think John, Zeke, and Liam would all tell him
that hearing and understanding are two different things.

It's kind of sad, but Christian and Jacob left yesterday to see
their family for the holidays. It's good for them and great for
their family, but we'll miss them. Christian is a good
[s]kid[/s] guy, but I've loved Jake every since I met him - he's
just one of my type of people.
We were hoping their family might be able to come down here to
visit, but it just didn't work out this time.
