Craig Monroe

This is not a huge update or anything, but I thought Craig
should have his own thread.
We first met Craig and shared his details in his big brothers
post:

There have also been a few BOTD scenarios that kept track of
some adjustment problems he's had, which can be found:

My reason for choosing now to make this post is that, now that
school's going, the Summer Movie Series is over, and Craig is
officially part of our household, last night was his first away
from home sleepover. He, along with Jake, Dylan Henderson, Eli
Marchant, and Brandon Malone (aka - his posse) were invited to a
sleepover at Sam Sutton's house, including a trip to go see
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I'm not sure what else they
got to do, since they all had soccer or baseball practice this
morning, but he was excited about it.

Poor kid, I bet he did not get to do sleepovers before. :(
Well, poor kid before, lucky kid now. I'm glad for him. :D
Although one of these days he'll get his first spanking

I had been asked a question about Craig after my recent
Christmas post. I answered there, but it also made me realize
that I haven't said much about Craig since he's been here, so I
thought I'd try to rectify that a bit.
First, I did (finally) update the All of the Family thread to
include Chance and Craig, and he was listed on the Height/Weight
when we returned from the start of school doctor visits this
year. With those in mind, let me
Craig Crawford Monroe
dob: 20 Oct 2005
5'4" 105 lbs
(the last was three months ago now, and I'm pretty sure he's
closer to 5'6" and 112 lbs).
For the record, Craig does not wear glasses, does not need
braces, wears boxer briefs, and is circumcised.
Craig is a pretty decent student - he's been holding a low
A/high B average. He's taking the basic load - English,
Literature, Science, Math, History, and Spanish. He's holding
A's in English, math, and Spanish, with Bs in the rest, and none
of his teachers have complained about his behavior, so I'm
happy. He thought about trying out for the school soccer team,
but decided to take Speech/Drama and Choir instead, and he
played soccer for the BYA.
Craig has a good group of friends. He and Jake are pretty much
best friends, and he and Dylan Henderson (my 13 year old
step-grandson) are just about as close, and even have a couple
of classes together. He is also very good friends with Sam
Sutton, Brandon Malone, and Eli Marchant. He is also friends
with Redmond Russo and Ennis Strouse, but Ennis goes to BCA and
Red goes to McCallum Middle School, so he doesn't see them as
often - Ennis more often, since he's still a regular visitor
around here. Now that Red actually has boys his own age here,
he has been coming over more often.
I guess that's about it for now, but if there's any question I
haven't answered, please ask.

"Craig Crawford Wells, how many spankings have you had since you
moved in with us?"
A blank look and a slow response. "One."
"Do you want to keep it that way?"
Mouth opens, mouth closes. A nod.
It was Friday night, and Craig and I had been discussing his
sudden idea to have 7 friends spend the night.
Now, let me say that his 'gang of eight' includes another of my
sons, a grandson, three of my unofficial nephews, and I adore
the last two boys, so I don't have a real problem with the idea
in theory.
I'd just told him 'no' because I don't really like trying to
coordinate something like that at the 11th hour, because the
next day (tonight) is Kenny's birthday party, and there was a
lot still going on with that, and because the entire gang was
already scheduled to spend the night for New Year's Eve. Oh,
and they've all been over here the past couple of days anyway,
except Redmond, who was only here Friday.
With his hands behind his back, Craig listened to me explain
that, once I've said no and explained why, the answer is pretty
set. While I will listen if he can calmly explain how I've made
actual, factual errors in my reasons why, what I won't tolerate
for long or well is wheedling, begging, griping, whining,
yelling, or just general argument (especially not repetitive
argument). And while I won't spank for any of those, not ending
the conversation when asked, or going to your room when told, is
disobedience and is a spanking offense.
I kind of think I might have made my point (for a few minutes).
He did come back later and help me review a few details for
Kenny's birthday party and think of some specifics for his NYE
party, so I guess we were okay.

That's cute.
I do love Craig. He is excited and has time on his hands so he
is thinking of things to do and having his gang all together for
the rest of the vacation from school sounded like a great idea
for him.
No sooner than he is a Wells, he has a confrontation. At least
he understood how far and no further to take that face-off.
Hopefully at 13 he has had his last spanking, but at your house
there are so many ways to earn a spanking. I suspect he will
get one before or just after the New year.
It really has to be a relief for him to be a Wells now, knowing
he is in his forever home.

You're welcome. I didn't count this one -

but for all I know, Owen Loomis did a good job on him with the
Tailblazer.
