Chance is having a few problems right now. Nothing discipline
worthy (quite), but still.
I mentioned earlier that Chance had some school problems. A lot
of that is that he never learned to be an independent studier.
I've had to stay on him a bit this semester - not because he
didn't want to do it, but because that's what's been done
successfully in the past. It's probably closest to say that
I've had to push him into organizing himself and getting himself
started, without being told each step to take.
He and I actually had a fight Saturday, where he was yelling at
me. That was when he found out I took him off the work schedule
until Friday (our schedule starts Monday, and he normally works
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and some weekends). Yeah, I'm his
boss, and this is a tight time for the stores with employees,
but as his father, and him being in a situation where he's been
having a bit of trouble, I wanted him to have plenty of time to
study. It wasn't much of an argument, since he wasn't going to
be able to get his Dad and boss to fight about it, though I did
get him to let me commiserate with him about how unreasonable
his boss can be.
By Monday afternoon, he seemed to be grateful I'd done it. He
came home yesterday afternoon, admitted the tests have been
kicking his butt (at least studying for them has), and he's glad
he doesn't have to work until they're over. When I got home
today, he'd been studying for a while, so I got him to put the
stuff away, we ate lunch together, and he's taking a rest break.
After that, he and Jeremy are going to do some reviews
together.
He's stressing a bit, but I think he's on top of it all, so
we're okay. He'll be glad when the last test is over though.

Well, raising one's voice when one is stressing out does tend to
be understandable in small amounts.

Yeah, I guess it depends on the kind of shouting.
