26 May 2019 - Nice Weekend

Yesterday, I had a bunch of my employees over for a casual pool
party. We cooked dawgs and burgers (and chicken, mushrooms, and
egg plant for those who prefer), with all the sides (5 types of
potato salad, macaroni salad, macaroni and cheese, baked beans,
cole slaw, and chips), and not much left over.
I make an effort to hire women in the store, even though comics
and gaming still seem to lean towards men. Still, I do have a
lot of men, and there was some very nice scenery yesterday.
Tomorrow is Memorial Day in the US, and my brothers and their
families are going to be joining us for our usual cook out.
But today? Today is actually going to be quiet... At least
quiet for my house. I have the grands this weekend (arrived
last night), and the kids will probably have their friends over
to hang out by the pool, but by 'quiet', I guess I actually mean
'nothing organized that I have to prepare, oversee, and clean
up'.
Ryan, Noah, and Kenny are planning a big brunch for us in a
couple of hours. We decided just to put out cold cuts later, so
everyone can graze as they get hungry. Since tomorrow isn't a
school day, I think I'm just going to make something this
evening that can served buffet style, so everyone can help
themselves when they get hungry. These days, even the youngest
grands can serve themselves, and clean up their dishes
afterwards.
I've already made out my finals and have them ready to go for
Tuesday and Wednesday. I have a few papers left to grade.
Thanks to computers, I don't even have to worry about
calculating grades. The program I use spits out their adjusted
GPA as soon as I enter the final grade. Of course, I have
family and friends graduating at BCA and BHS both, so I have
that to do Thursday and Friday, but things at the store seem to
be settling down a bit, the college kids take up space, but they
all help around the house, so I'm actually getting a little
alone time again these days.
