Connor had a great time yesterday. While I've done Medieval
Times many time for birthday parties, it's been years since the
last time, and Connor loved it. All the kids had a great time.
I did take some of the older kids to see an early AM show of
Rampage. It was good in a pure fun, popcorn movie kind of way.
It wasn't as gory as the reviews I saw said. There's really
just one bad seen. No new movies releasing next week (that
we're interested in seeing), so I might take the younger kids to
       it next weekend.

I have been meaning to post this for a while, but kept getting
distracted. Actually, when I have time to sit down and type, I
       just don't think about it.
Connor's birthday was the 12, a bit over two weeks ago. That
was a Thursday. It was only a couple of weeks before that I'd
taken Zeke out of school so he could go shopping with me. I did
the same thing with Connor on his birthday.
While it's not quite as easy, since he attends the public
school, I had checked with his teachers, and they'd all okayed
it. They just gave me a note, then let me go to the classroom
to get him. When I told him what we were going to do, he was
pretty excited. However, he asked if we couldn't take Curtis. I
told him I'd planned for this to be one-on-one time for us, and
I was going to take Curtis later, but he wanted his brother to
go. Only being a second grader, Curtis really only has one
teacher, so we went to her classroom, and I asked her if it was
okay. She not only allowed it, but she thinks it's a good idea.
We stopped back by the office to sign Curtis out as well, then
       we were off.
I did the same things with them as I did with Zeke. I showed
them how I made the menus for the week, and how I made the
grocery l list. Before we left, I made sure they understood the
shopping rules. On the way, the two of them agreed they could
each chose one type of cereal, cookies, chips, and general
snacks (i.e. - the things where I switch around a lot to keep it
all fresh). They also 'bargained' me into letting them get a
package of vanilla/chocolate swirl pudding keeps for their very
       own, once we were there.
We did stop and have lunch, and we had a nice discussion. I
really dislike McDonald's, and I haven't been crazy about IHOP
since they quit carrying Coca-Cola products. We agreed on
Denny's, and I even let them have shakes with their pancake
breakfasts (hey, I didn't have to eat it). As for me, I've
always loved their Moon's Over My Hammy sandwich. We were all
       happy.
When we got home, and we (I) put the groceries up. We spent
some time with some time with Rusti and Rascal - bathed them,
brushed them out, then the four of them just played, while I
brushed out the other animals. When I was through with
everyone, I ended up putting C&C in the shower, then they took a
nap for a bit. I didn't let them sleep long, though, and they
were up and dressed again before their big brothers got home.
I really need to start thinking about teaching them some basic
cooking skills and how to do laundry, but neither one of them is
really big enough to use the stove top or to reach all the
laundry stuff, so I guess there's no real rush yet.

it is great that you had some one on one (well, two on one) time
       with C and C.
