January 2019 - Holidays End

I actually had to spend some time at school on Thursday and
Friday. It's a good thing I'm only a part-time teacher, and
that I had everything ready to go.
Technically, the Christmas vacation ended last Wednesday, but we
teachers had a couple of days in-service, so the students start
back tomorrow for the Spring Semester.
Of the college kids, Ethan starts tomorrow and left for school
yesterday morning.
John starts Tuesday, but he flew out Friday, so he could spend
the weekend with his friends before school starts.
Mickey starts Wednesday, and he's going to fly out tomorrow
morning, so he could hang out and watch the playoffs with his
brothers.
Ryan and Thomas don't start back until a week from tomorrow.
Ryan is driving out to spend a few days with Thomas and his
family, and they'll be back here Friday, so they can hang out
with the younger kids.
Christian and Jake Hogan also start back a week from Monday.
Their sibs start back to school tomorrow, and they'll be flying
down here Wednesday to hang out for a while.
Sean Strouse also starts back that day, and I imagine I'll be
seeing a fair amount of him before he has to leave, since he and
Parker are still dating.
The University of Texas boys were pretty close to the last ones
home, and they're the last ones leaving, as well, since they
don't have to be back at school until after MLK day. They're
planning on leaving probably the Friday before, but that's not
yet set in stone.

Safe travels to those boys that have to head back to school or
are traveling and enjoy your time with ones still at home....
Hope the new semester is good to you and getting back into the
school after break is not hectic

Well, it's hectic, but so have been the holidays. So really,
it's just a different type of hectic.
School went okay, but I've pretty much decided that I won't be
teaching after this. There are a lot of reasons going into that
decision, but basically, I just have too many demands on my
attention, and while I like most of the things I'm doing
(including teaching), I just feel like I have no time for myself
- it's hard for me to do the things that I personally enjoy,
like keeping up this forum or just spending a little quiet time
reading.
As it is, we're having some very nice weather. Before leaving
school today, I went to visit Marcus, and he actually had his PE
class doing the old shirts/skins thing to play capture the flag.
They were 7th graders, so it was a nice range of sizes
involved.

Lol well I’m happy it was good...
I was kinda wondering how long the teaching would last for just
those reasons...
We all need some time to do the things we like... good luck
