by Jack Wells[/center]
“Today is the third of December. Finals are on the thirteenth,
fourteenth and seventeenth. Our finals in this class will be on
the whatever. Between now and then we have to over whichever
more,” said every single one of my teachers the next day.
All of them!
It wasn’t actually too bad, since that did give us nearly two
weeks, and we weren’t behind on anything. I did have two book
reports coming due, but I’d already read both books.
I saw Jerry at lunch, and we smiled at each other, but both of
us were with friends from outside the club, so we just left it
at a smile and nod. Connor sought me out at lunch, but only to
ask about using lights or candles at the clubhouse. I explained
that candles would be okay, but the only electric stuff we had
ran off of batteries, so lights wouldn’t work too well.
Okay, maybe the whole day wasn’t like that. Right after lunch,
I have health with Mr. Strahan. He’s mostly a coach, but he’s
also pretty young. As a matter of fact, one friend of mine says
Mr. Strahan played high school football with his uncle, and they
only graduated in ‘12, which means Mr. Strahan is only like 24.
He’s also really good looking.
Oh, and he’s known for paddling.
Now, I’m not like Connor. For one thing, I’m afraid that if I
got paddled at school, Dad would find out and be mad at me.
That doesn’t mean I don’t think about it though. I was thinking
about Mr. Strahan being wearing his football shorts and holding
his paddle, and me being in my gym suit, and him lecturing me,
as he patted the paddle against his hand, and….
“Are you with us, Carter?”
“Hu… Excuse me?”
“That’s what I thought. Ms. Denning, would you start reading on
page 187, please? Carter, get your book out and catch up.”
Blushing, I grabbed for me book.
The week actually flew by pretty quick. I was working on both
book reports. I did the outline and layouts first, then read
the specifics for each one, to be sure I got everything. Since
the history report was going to be a power point, I also had to
spend some time searching for stuff I wanted to show.
Along with all that, I had my daily chores to handle, and more
homework coming every day. The weekend sounded good, but I was
really looking forward to the semester ending.
I did talk to Mom about getting some snacks for the club party.
She agreed, but pointed out we’d have to go Thursday night,
since we were going to be going to Aunt Linda and Uncle Dave’s
that weekend.
Wednesday night was my night to make dinner. I’d made meatloaf
the week before, so I was doing spaghetti. I was a little
surprised when Logan Lanier joined me.
Logan and I got along okay, but he was best friends with Gavin,
despite the fact that he was in the same grade as Riley and was
actually a little older.
“Hey, Craig, whatcha doin’?”
“Is that a trick question?” I replied, with a smile so he’d know
I was kidding.
He smiled back.
We made small talk for a few minutes, but he seemed kind of
nervous. Finally, as I was putting the garlic bread into the
oven, he came to the point.
“You wanna play YuGiOh! again sometime?” he asked.
“Sure,” I replied. Neither Gavin nor Riley was very good, so I
didn't playing with Logan. He wasn’t great, but he gave me
someone with whom I could test new decks. “I can’t do it until
the weekend, though.”
He shrugged “That’s okay.”
He was quiet for a moment, but he was also fidgeting, so I had a
pretty good idea there was more coming.
“You wanna bet again?”
“We can,” I agreed casually. “What do you want to bet?”
“I still want those same cards I wanted last time.”
“Okay. So what do you want to bet this time?”
He glanced around, then leaned towards me and lowered his voice.
“Same thing?”
I smiled and nodded. “You sure?”
I was certainly sure I would, but he’d seemed unhappy the last
time, and I wasn’t going to push it.
“Yeah… But does it have to be bare this time?”
I wiped the smile off my face and gave him a serious look.
“Is it even a spanking if it’s not bare?”
He smiled shyly, blushed deeply, and just shrugged before
agreeing.
I promised to call him Saturday morning to see when we could get
together.

Oh My Craig is sure piling up things for the weekend. Saturday
with Logan, Sometime over the weekend at Aunt Linda and Uncle
Dave's. And of course the chores that need to get done. Me
thinks that Craig is building a mountain that is going to be
difficult to climb. ::)

I have tried to make the dates clear, but it's sometimes hard to
do that in a natural way - especially since these chapters are
spaced over so many days.
Having said that, the visit to his aunt and uncle's is on the
15th and 16th, which is a week past our current weekend (which
Craig is just now approaching in his story).

Oh Okay. I just thought you were building to a big climax for
the weekend when Craig discovers he has way to many irons in the
fire. Hahahaha
Sorry if I read things into your story. That is how I read
stories. My imagination goes crazy. Well stories that I like
that is. ;D

Okay, Logan must not be a club member because otherwise he would
know it had to be bare. I'm still trying to identify the 8th
club member since so far I've only counted 7 (Craig, Jerry,
Rick, Dan, Connor, Kevin, and Jake).
