Think the servers are down? READ.

How could I forget to bring this topic back...?
If the servers are down, you will receive this message:
our connection request has failed. :c
If you have been banned, another message will show up, so don't
worry about that.
[size=13pt]What can I do if I think the servers are down?
[*]Check your internet signal is strong enough to play IT, above
2 bars is usually sufficient.
[*]Check the help board to see if there's a resolved thread
about the server being down.
[*]DO NOT spam the Xat or the Help Board, one 'is the server
down?' is enough. Be courteous enough to consider the question
has likely been asked 20 times before yours.
[*]DO NOT ask if the server is back up yet, check for yourself
by attempting to log in every once in a while.
[*]Keep in mind that the server is a remotely hosted, devoted
server. Nobody can fix it at the blink of an eye.
Remotely hosted? Devoted? I'm confused!
[size=7pt] Don't panic!
Remotely hosted is as the name suggests, the server itself is
located somewhere else.
It is not within physical contact to any of the admins. This
means that they can't fix any issues that come up.
We can only wait for it to behave!
They can, however, force the server to shut down if there is an
update being added, or a serious matter comes up.
You will be informed when this happens if the need arises, but
still can only wait until it is relaunched.
A devoted, or 'devved', server means that it is online 24/7
unless it hiccups.
This makes it much more efficient than a server that is run from
someone's personal computer.
Devved servers are very powerful and have a much larger
bandwidth than personally hosted servers.
It may hiccup at times, but I'm sure those who were around in
early Beta before we had this server will agree that it's much
more reliable.
