Game Help FAQ (Read Before Posting Help Topic)

I did this so there won't be so many help threads about the same
thing. Feel free to post any others and I will add. c:
AND THE NUMBER ONE QUESTION IS......?
Okay, so first things first. The most asked question of all is:
WHERE IS THE GAME DOWNLOAD?
A. Read the forums, reading is good for you. ;) The staff will
not give out the link, and it is right in plain sight.
GENERAL GAME ISSUES.
1. Q. I CAN'T LOG IN!
A. Have you made an actual game account? Unlike FeralHeart, ITr
is NOT connected to the forums. You must create a seperate game
account.
2. Q. WHY CAN'T I CONNECT?!
A. The server may be down because of weather issues or updates
are being added.
A2. Check your internet router to make sure your connection
isn't having issues.
A3. We have moved servers. Download the latest version of the
game if you haven't already.
3. Q. MY CHARACTER MOVES ODDLY!
A. If it is pausing periodically, it's lag. Try heading to
another map that isn't crowded, and close all other windows in
your browser.
A2. Try changing the graphics rendering option.
4. Q. WHY CAN I CONNECT, BUT IT DISCONNECTS ME SHORTLY AFTER?
A. Try running the game in windowed mode! The fullscreen seems
to have many issues!
5. Q. WHAT ARE THE POWERS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
A. If you press 1, that is your default action, attack , and it
is unlimited. Cures are very important. You need them to heal
yourself. Tames you use to tame a pet. Zooms help you move
faster for a few seconds. Backflip, Lunge, Swipe, and Roar can
be used in hunting. To switch powers, press the 2 button. To use
powers accurately, try pressing F1 and using it so you don't
mis-click when using that power.
6. Q. CAN I TAME PRAISABLES?
A. At the moment? No.
7. Q. WHY CAN'T I GET AN ITEM!
A. It all depends on luck. Just keep hunting, you'll get one!
8. Q. CAN I PUT BOSSES IN MAPS?
A. No.
9. Q. WHY CAN'T I SEE MY PRESET?
A. Presets have not been added to the server just yet.
10. Q. WHERE ARE MY SCREENSHOTS SAVED, AND HOW DO I TAKE A
SCREENSHOT?
A. You take a screenshot by hitting prtsc on your keyboard. Ones
with laptops must hit a "FN" key AND the prtsc button at the
same time to take a screenshot. Screenshots are saved directly
to your C Drive. If you cannot find your screenies in your C
Drive, you have to pull up a program such as paint or Gimp for
example, and paste your screenie there, then save it.
11. Q. I'M BANNED! But I didn't do anything wrong!
A. This seems to be a common glitch. You're not banned! Try to
log in again in a few minutes.
A2. You may have been actually banned, pm an admin and explain
the situation to them.
12. Q. MY ITEMS DISAPPEARED OR MULTIPLIED!
A. This is the server. Sometimes when it spazzes, items are lost
or duplicated, even pets are "eaten"! The only thing that will
help prevent this is logging off right after you get a new item
or tame a pet. This will help save it to the server.
13. Q. I'VE BEEN WOUNDED! WHAT DO I DO??!
A. The best thing you can do is find a shallow pool of water,
lay on your back in the water until the red on your heath bar
decreases completely, then cure yourself with the "Cure" power.
14. Q. THE TREES AND ROCKS ARE BLACK OR THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE
SCREEN HAS WHITE OBJECTS!
Turn Paged Geometry off in the settings by pressing esc >
settings > Paged Geometry.
15. Q. I DOWNLOADED A MAP! WHAT DO I DO??
A. There should be a README.txt file in the folder you
downloaded. Open it and follow the instructions EXACTLY. Or it
will not work.
Wherever you move the Costomportals.txt will be where the portal
to the map will be.
16. Q. WHY DO I CRASH AT THE CHARACTER SCREEN!?
A. This seems to be a bit of a common issue. I suggest you try
windowing the game, switching the rendering option, look for any
updates your computer needs installed, then, if that doesn't
work, simply re-install the game.
17. Q. WHEN I TRY TO USE THE SHORTCUT ON MY DESKTOP, I GET AN
ERROR!: "Cannot find magix.exe!"
A: This happens if you saved IT somewhere other than the C:/
drive. To fix this, uninstall the game and reinstall it to the
C:/ drive. (Simply moving the folder to C:/ does NOT work. You
must reinstall.)
A2: You can play the game by opening your IT folder and double
clicking the file called "Updater.exe". This will let your game
update even if the desktop shortcut isn't working. "Game.exe" is
NOT recommended, since this application doesn't run the updater,
and playing this way will leave your game update-less.
OGRE/RELATED ISSUES. (WIP)
1. ERROR MESSAGE: d3dx9_37.dll is missing?
A. You need to install/update DirectX. Try this:

2. ERROR MESSAGE:

A. During the download, your computer skipped/missed a file.
Solution is simply reinstall. (Don't forget to backup!)
3. ERROR
MESSAGE:[IMG]

A. You need to update DirectX or use OpenGL instead.
4. ERROR MESSAGE:"This application has failed to start because
d3dx9_37.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may
fix this problem."
A.1) Change your subsystem from Direct3D9 to OpenGL. If openGL
lags for you, change colour depth to the lowiest and dont run IT
fullscreen.
A.2) reinstall.
NORTON/VIRUS PROTECTION PROGRAMS.
1. Q. NORTON DELETED GAME.EXE. WHAT DO I DO?
A. The file was not deleted, but moved into quarantine. Start
Norton, click "Quarantine", then find Game.exe, click it, then
click restore. MAKE SURE you tell Norton to ignore the file in
the future, so it won't quarantine it again
2. Q. A VIRUS?
A. If you have Norton, chances are it will detect a so-called
"virus" when you download the game. There is in fact NO threat
at all in the download. Simply turn off Norton while you are
downloading the game.
*NOTE* AVG has been reported to do this as well. Just shut it
off while downloading.
SERVER ISSUES.
1. Q. WHY DOES THE SERVER CRASH SO OFTEN?
A. No one can really answer this question, all any of us can do
is wait for it to come back up.
2. Q. WILL GAME UPDATES BE ADDED? AND DO I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD
THEM?
A. Yes and no. The Design Team is working on additions to the
game. You will not have to download them, the new server's
download includes a fixed updater that will look for updates
every time you log in. You don't have to worry about downloading
them manually!
UPDATE ISSUES
Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be any issues with the most
recent update. (Reskinning of game and some items)
OTHER ISSUES
ERROR MESSAGE:For those of you with this error: C:\Impressive
Title\magix.exe The application has failed to start because its
side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the
application event log for more details.
A:Go to your Impressive Title folder, usually C:\Impressive
Title, and find a file called vcredist_x86.exe. Run this file,
and either install or repair, depending on what it asks you.

There should be some map tutorials coming up soon.
