       Economic Importance.

       Rabbits) SPACIMENT (C) GRAIN WEEVIL Phylum and Class with
       Reasons. Reasons Phylum; Arthropoda- segmented
       body, chitinous exoskeleton
       jointed appendages.
       Reasons CLASS; INSECTA--Three body
       divisions- head, thorax and
       abdomen, three pairs of jointed
       legs; Two pairs of wings.
       Crops infested by the specimen (weevil) are;
       Rico,maizo;millet;guinea corn;
       Adaptive features of Weevil;
       (1) Long Proboscis / Rostrum for
       burrowing into the grain and for
       feeding (2) Hard forewings / elytron, to
       protect hind or inner
       membranous wing and the soft
       body.
       (3) Small size; that will enable it
       penetrate the grain; (4) Membranous wings; for
       flying.
       Preventive Measures - Proper drying of grains;
       - Use of pesticiders /insecticides
       - Store grain in a dry place
       - use of irradiation (i.e treat with
       Gamma radiation in to presen it)
       - Avoid mixing old stock of grain with new grains
       -Store in air- tight container.

       - Squirrel
