The Last Stand

It started just like everyone from the movies said it would. It
started somewhere remote, somewhere warm, down in the lower
areas of the region, where there were jungles. Then it spread.
It spread east and west from it's origin... Infecting hundreds
of thousands, lying dormant. And then it awoke.
Transformation came almost instantly, it seemed. Within a day,
people would claw out each other's throats, spreading the
infection to some, killing most. It was an ugly disease, and
soon, more than half of the population disappeared, or was
turned to Zombies. Entire governments toppled almost instantly,
being wiped out to the man.
That's when it was formed. The IUS government instantly
organized two military driven units to combat this disease.
Headed by DEN, the two units were known as the MDDC, and
Operation Z. The MDDC, or Military Department of Disease
Control, began researching a cure for the disease, centering
operations in the cold areas of DEN and Uniformitarian. They
would find cures, test them, and disperse them over all areas of
the region.
The second one, dubbed Operation Z, was not so easy. Composed of
three units: Guard, Extraction, and Elite, their job was to
guard the population centers, exterminate small outbreaks, and
extract people from overrun facilities. The Tactical Response by
the IUS was sent to each surviving nation, and gave them the
option to join.
Already, a cure was found... It was a chemically dispersed cure,
which called for massive deployment. Bomber squadrons were
mobilized to disperse the chemicals... But would it be enough?
