       DEN secedes!
   DIR By: Caos
       Date: August 25, 2014, 4:16 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The nation of DEN, a glorious empire composed of many lands, has
recently seceded from the Union, now no longer abiding by Union
Laws. ((I still follow Region laws, just not Union Laws.). It no
longer will participate in voting, nor in Union Congress, nor
have the protection of Congress. While largely regarded as an
illegal act, when asked what the IUS will do, the current
government said that they would organize a task force to deal
with this menace. When DEN officials were questioned, they
simply said "Have at thee, coward!"
       More on this later.
OOC: This is an illegal move, and when done, the IUS has to
       fight to regain that nation.
This is to get you all accustomed to RP. Please, no one else
leave. I want to see where this goes.

"Sir, DEN has seceded from the International Union of States!"
President Garmen Valere looked up, shocked. "HOW could they!
What do they want, another Civil War! How dare they plunge our
       state into chaos?"
His assistant, Louis Triel, looked fearfully at President
Garmen. He had been known to go into fits of rage before. "I'm
sorry sir, I'm sure they are doing this for purely good means.
They would never purposely had our glorious lands." He then
added with a smirk, "They want to exist, after all."
"Intentional or not, we will be affected by this. We are the
largest state with a border to DEN, and that will cost us
dearly. I guarantee you fighting will spill into our borders,
and our men and women will be attacked. We are at a crossroads
here. Fight on DEN's side and get annihilated, attack them and
be devastated, or stay neutral and be attacked by both. I will
make up my decision with my advisors."
Some time later, in Vararath Congress
"Ladies and Gentlemen of Vararath, DEN has seceded from the IUS.
I have contacted DEN, the international Congress, and the
Confederate States of Redneck America. Once I hear their
responses, I shall leave it to you to decide our course."
       To: Die Enworbenen Namen
       Top Secret, maximum security
We ask that you cease your pretenses of rebellion against the
Intennational Union of States and prevent war. I do not wish for
our states to war, but I'm afraid we may not have a choice if
you continue to pretend to be an independent nation.
Congress of the International Union of States
I ask that Congress authorize military action in DEN. We further
add that until we also join in war, any troops placed in our
land will lead to our secession.
       Confederate States of Redneck America
As a fellow confederate state, I ask that should we go to war
you support us, against the liberal menace and rebellion against
       our wonderful nation.

Uniformitarian is shocked by all these developments coming from
DEN. In Greenland, a meeting was held between the king and his
advisers to decide their position on this catastrophic event.
The King released a statement saying, "While we like the IUS and
all it was founded on, may I remind all that the IUS is
comprised of sovereign nations in an alliance. We believe that
DEN has the right to self-determination as a sovereign nation,
and they can decide what kind of alliances and unions they are
       in."

"How does independence feel, Vladimir?" Maximus asked, smiling
and sipping his champagne. He deserved this glory, this luxury.
The feeling of being ones own government... He loved it. And the
knowledge that no one else could accomplish this was even
better. No renegade nations other than his. Hell, he could sell
his military services to nations inside the union. Then again,
he knew it was illegal. People wouldn't be happy with this
       decision.
"Not how you might think. We got this... Interesting form of
blackmail from our neighboring nation. He wanted us to join or
we would be invaded. I simply laughed at this, but I wanted your
opinion, sir." Vladimir said, a little sad that he ruined his
Emperor's mood by reporting this. He handed him a letter, and
Maximus raised an eyebrow. How interesting. A threat. No matter.
       They could do this.
"Huh... It's laughable, but not light hearted. I know for sure
that they will be mobilizing, and we should do the exact same.
They won't back down on this. Establish a strong defense on our
land fronts, and pour mines and ships into the ocean. When
you've got an established defense, invade."

Caught traveling from the Executive Mansion to the Capitol
Building President Rubio had this to say when asked by the press
about DEN leaving the IUS, "First and foremost the IUS is not a
nation that DEN is a part of, it's an international
organization. As a sovereign nation DEN has the right to belong
to whatever organizations it chooses to. Secondly this shouldn't
affect our relationship with our northern friend at all, our
nation was founded in a very similar manner. As a matter of fact
if Vladimir is determined this is the direction he wants to lead
his people in I would encourage him to either visit Richmond, or
send a representative, so that we may discuss our relationship
       outside the IUS."

OOC: That's quite alright. I just put it there for those who do
use other eras of technology. It should be interesting.
       IC:
Vladimir nodded as Maximus pocketed the light and short
manuscript of blackmail, and didn't salute his leader, something
unheard of at the time. Beginning to walk towards the door, his
trench coat caught the air as he turned, making him look regal.
He was nothing of the sort. He reached the door, and looked over
his shoulder, hand on the carved wood that was the frame.
       "Anything else, my friend?"
"Yes. Rush all projects currently being done. I expect to find a
deadly and efficient weapon other than the FAE, as good as it
is." Maximus ordered, looking up from his reading of the letter,
thinking of something to reply to it. Perhaps, he thought, the
best reply was in fact that of one word. A word known for its
choice of delivery in history. Perhaps that was suitable. "And
don't attack until we're ready. As such, I extend the military
to you. That is a all, I believe. No?"
"I do believe it is suitable, yes. Enjoy your day, Emperor."
Vladimir said, departing the room and heading for an entirely
different place in the Palace, yet one of the same importance:
       The War Room.

"So, Führer, let's get down to business. What is our plan of
action here? If you yourself tell us to take actions in defense
of our country, you should at least help plan, no?" General
Waters asked, watching the ten other Generals, and the Field
Marshal, examine the map of the ISU. The meeting had, so far,
came out exactly like this, with people barely talking and
merely looking. Examining. They had, however, determined the
enemy's choice course of action, which was an invasion of weaker
cities, presumably under the help of the IUS armies.
"Patience, Mr. Waters, is key. The ability to be patient and
understanding of the situation at hand, to fully grasp the
volume and to know when to control it, is unparalleled.
Thousands, if not millions, have died at the hand of an
impatient mind, taken prey by short sighted ventures, unthought
out ideas, and poorly and recklessly constructed actions, all
for the man's apparent necessity to act. Not but because he
needs to, but because he did not understand, nor wanted to, the
reason to wait." Vladimir said, a smile curling on his lips, and
his eyes looking up from the mapped table. Waters simply raised
an eyebrow, and Vladimir took a piece numbered 26, as well as
pieces marked from 11 to 110, and placed it along the border of
the two massive countries, marking where he intended those
       armies to garrison.
"No offense, sir, but what does that mean?" Waters asked,
looking skeptical. Indeed, it was an interesting display of
literature, perhaps he would quote it later if he needed it.
"It means you do not yet understand. There is a reason I am two
ranks above you, Waters. Do not take my lesson lightly."
Vladimir said, and placed an air wing at each base garrisoned,
as well as placing four bomber wings behind friendly lines. The
Sea Marshal, meanwhile, placed two fleets, and moved the 21 as
well as a chip named SZ1 with the fleet, signaling naval
infantry for a naval assault. "If the Death Korps could
understand that at age 10, a General at five times his age with
even more training than he already had, should be able to not
only interpret it with flawless accuracy, but teach it to his
       men."
"I do teach it to my men, though. They know all about patience.
As do I. I have patience. This, though, was simply nearly 20
grown men moving pieces for ten hours, to no avail! Only now are
you all agreeing amongst yourselves the course of action we must
take! Our enemies could be at our doors by now!" Rogers said in
a burst of anger, slamming his fist down.
"Then let them. I'd rather fight an enemy whom I can predict,
who is on our soil, and when we are ready, than the exact
opposite." Vladimir said, thinking, then smiling. Finally, they
had done it. A plan which they could rely upon easily.
"Riechsführer Ascrith, alert the civilian leaders to mobilize
the SA, and tell them that we have come to a plan, and that they
will see action. The rest of you, dismissed!"
"Finally..." Waters whispered. Apparently Vladimir heard it.
       "I heard that!"

       Date: August 26, 2014, 7:22 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
News of Die erworbenen Namen's succession from the IUS
(International Union of States) had reached the shores of the
mighty Eastern Byzantine Empire, shocking much of the civilians
of the Empire. There was, however, a large minority of people
who were ecstatic upon hearing the recent event. The
Pro-Succession movement was a long time advocator of the
succession of the Eastern Byzantine Empire from the IUS and held
annual local demonstrations outside government buildings to
persuade people to join their cause as well as to protest the
Emperor's decisions to remain loyal to the Union. Many of there
members flooded the streets of Athens, the second largest city
in the Empire as well as the largest concentration of PS
members, to show their support for DEN succession. Banners and
Flags were flying in the air of the nation of DEN to celebrate
their Independence. Many of which read " Σε
       με το νέο, με
       την παλιά" meaning In
with the New, Out with the Old. The local guard however arrived
at the gathering and scattered all the celebrators, under direct
orders from Duke Demetrius, a loyal servant of the Emperor.
       The Capital
The Emperor paced back and forth in his Throne Room, accompanied
by his various advisors. As a devout member to the Union he was
infuriated at the actions made by the DEN government. However,
he proceeded to review the issue at hand, with much caution. He
knew what he was up against, DEN the Dragon of the East, as he
called them. He was well aware of the military capabilities DEN
possessed and he was not willing to risk the lives of his fellow
       countrymen in all out war.
"Your Majesty, I propose we stay neutral in this affair. The
nation has not yet fully recovered from our reconquest of
Byzantium, the Turks were powerful adversary. It took much
planning and lives to reconquer our de facto Capital." The
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nichola Athas, said as he
       interrupted the Emperor's thought.
"Please, if I may, but I agree with my colleague here. Our
economy is recovering and growing fast, yes, but we need more
time to recuperate. A military engagement with DEN will but too
much of a strain on resources for us that our expanding
businesses will soon come to a complete stop..." replied The
       Minister of Finance, Calimero Hanno.
"You underestimate our strength, Calimero. We are absolutely
capable of fielding a large army with the economy still intact.
The population has doubled since the assault of Istanbul and
there is more Patriotic Byzantines willing to join the army.
Your Majesty, we can win and we will win." interrupted the
Minister of National Defense, Calistrato Drivas.
The Minister of Labour seemed to nod as if agreeing with
       Calistrato.
"Your Majesty, please, you must realize that our trade will be
greatly hurt with any aggression towards DEN, let us not forget
they are the largest importer of our produce and manufactured
goods." The Minister of Shipping,Nerio Vasco, pleaded.
       *pfftt* "χαζή
       ηλίθιος" The Minister of
National Defense said under his breath.
Unfortunately the Minister of Shipping heard him and decided to
       shoot back "θηρίο
       φλυαρία!"
The caused a major uproar inside the chamber, both sides
continued to throw insults at each other continuously, until the
Emperor stood up, his flowing purple robes falling to the floor.
He adjusted his crown and simply held up one hand. The room fell
silent as if a spirit had entered the chamber. "You are
dismissed, I will decide what to do tomorrow morning." And with
a flick of his wrist his advisors left, swiftly and quietly. He
sat back down and gazed at one of the intricate paintings hung
on the wall pondering his next move.

"Oh what do you do with a drunken sailor what do you do with a
drunken sailor..." Rogers hummed under his breath, walking along
the deck of the ship to the bridge. He was wearing a trench
coat, black against the bluish grey of the battle barge. Behind
him the water splashed against the mighty hull, the icy waters
foaming when it hit the metal. Climbing up the steps, he noticed
the mighty turrets: Abster and Absta, two mighty turrets with 15
inch guns, one on either side, and behind that, one turret of
massive BrahMos2 launchers. Yes, the battle barge was huge, and
multiple VTOL jets, as well as helicopters, all lined up on the
deck, people rushing about. "What do you do with a drunken
       sailor early in the morning..."
"Morning, Rogers. How are you today?" Captain Roberts said,
looking out into the waters with his binoculars. Roberts just
mumbled, drinking some coffee out of his mug and then walking
over to the window. He shut the door behind him, the wind no
longer whipping about and whistling, but now quiet against the
       doorways. "Talkative today, aren't we?"
"Aye. I am. As are you, it seems." Rogers said, and looked back
at his brother, who was no longer staring out into the abyss,
but was now looking back at him, binoculars still in his hands,
but now at his chest. He, too, was wearing a trench coat, except
this one was blue, with red epaulets, and a blue officer cap on
his head. The officer cap had a red star on it, surrounded by a
laurel of gold. On his left chest was his rank again, with the
Spetznaz symbol below it. On his right chest was the DEN flag,
with the name of his ship above it: Bismarck. "What brings you
       to my ship?"
"HQ needed a Spetznaz officer to lead the naval invasion, and I
was the likely candidate." Roberts responded, putting the
binoculars down. Rogers had the SS flag on his right chest, and
above it was the ship of his command: Aquarius, the Battle
Barge. Both of these men, while different branches, were ship
captains, but unlike Roberts, Rogers didn't always command from
sea. And to see two different ship captains controlling one ship
like this was odd; Roberts was the Bismarck's commander. The
Bismarck was a missile battleship. "Don't worry. My girl is
still in this fleet. She's four ships down, if you remember her
       shape."
"I thought I recognized it somewhere... Where's the Tiripitz and
Prinz Eugen?" Rogers asked, confused. He assumed that when he
was called to the bridge, the pocket battleship escorts for the
Aquarius would be there along with the LC lieutenants. "And why
did you call me to the bridge... On my own ship?"
"I was ordered to assume naval command of the operation when the
Admiral died early this morning." Roberts replied, and Rogers
looked a little surprised. "I was promoted by Vladimir himself
to Admiral. On that note, are your men ready?"
"Aye. They're down below. Castro just reported that his men were
ready as well. Are the Monitors, ships, and bombers ready?"
Rogers asked, now looking out the window with his own
binoculars. Off in the distance, he could see land. As well as
the enemy ships, waiting for nothing in particular. How lovely.
"The bombers have already been dispatched, and we've armed them
with 15,000 pounds of Ammonal bombs. No daisy cutters, though.
We don't have those yet." Roberts replied, and looked at the
radar. Now they were in range of the enemy. "And the ships?
They're ready. We've split up the landing craft. Take the port
with your division. We'll mess up the shoreline."
Nodding, Rogers walked out of the room, trench coat swaying
behind him as the wind blew against him, and he walked down the
steps to below the deck. There, the SS division, not listed
under the men who were meant to land, was waiting, all armed and
boarding their Challangers and Hybrid helis for quick deployment
       to the port.
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Roberts stood at the bridge, comms online for his ship and the
other ships, ready to command. He was going to start the
shelling of the enemy lines... Specifically? The bases and
ports. The airports would be bombed by the bombers.
"Monitors, get into range. Once you're in range, open fire.
Target the shores. Give us cover for when we land. I want
craters, boys! Craters!" Roberts ordered, and the ships began
getting into range, guns at the ready. The four monitors held
six guns each, all 16 inch guns, and all radar guided. Soon,
they got into range... And open fired. The guns boomed, shells
flying out like crazy, landing amongst the sand and the dirt,
sending them into the air. "Battleships, target the ships in the
port! Launch your missiles at the ships and shell what's left!
Carriers, send out what remaining MRFs you have to cover the
helis on their way in. Keep the AS on standby!"
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The bombers had taken off from the four carriers, numbered 100
in total, all carrying 15,000 pounds of bombs each. Their
massive jets took them into the sky, passing the view of the
ships, and soon, reaching land. But they weren't even near their
target quite yet... No, they were far off. The airports, from
the satellites, were more inland it seemed.
"Alright, boys. Hang on. We might get some AA. Fighters, if you
see an enemy plane, shoot it down. I don't care what it is. Any
and everything that's airborne is considered a threat!" The
captain of one of the bombers ordered. He was the leader of the
       airborne here.
