Uniformitarian Expands North

The Kingdom of Uniformitarian is going to expand north into what
remains of the land known as California.

expansion[/glow]
From the Capitol of Gracegard (San Diego), King Harrion appeared
before a myriad of reporters and made an official statement
regarding the pending expansion: "Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a
glorious concept for the future of our sacred borders. There
remains an unclaimed swath of California to our north, and I
have not seen our northern neighbors wanting to take advantage
of it, so we will. The land would allow us to have vital
coastline for our infant navy, and allow us more space for
growth and development. We want this annexation to take place as
soon and as peacefully as possible, so we will be sending
diplomats into their cities and municipalities in order to see
what they would want for annexation. Money is no object when it
comes to this. We will expand for the Glory of Uniformitarian!"
The reporters broke in a frenzy of cheers and questions.
"Your Grace, will you use force if necessary to accomplish our
goals?"
The King chuckled and with a twinkle in his eye, responded,
"Yes. It is a possible avenue, but we will do our best in any
event to use the minimal amount of force necessary, but I am
confident that we can expand successfully given any situation.
And if I might add, the purpose of this expansion is not purely
militarily aimed. We want to be able to be better connected to
our neighbors and be able to trade with them better, and not
have some non-state entities bar that. We would also strengthen
our economy by having more waters to have oil rigs and fishing
venues on."
After this brief answer, he was escorted away from the press
conference to a dinner to raise funds for needy children and
orphans.

Diplomats have been sent to all corners of the unclaimed land,
bearing Uniformitarian's flag and an offer of annexation. The
diplomats have been instructed to ask the citizens what they
would want and how Uniformitarian can help improve their
qualities of life.

Diplomats have stopped at San Francisco, which has been
recognized as the capitol of the non-annexed lands. They were
greeted by a group of representatives simply known as The
Council. The Council consists of reps from all of unclaimed
California, so they would hold the most weight in an annexation
deal. The Council has a Supreme Chancellor, and he is known as
Percy Barnes. A meeting has been set up between The Council and
Uniformitarian's Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Levesque, to
disy an annexation deal. More to come.
