[glow=red,2,300]Intergalactic Empire and Federal Commonwealth of
       Trekylon[/glow]
       The [shadow=blue,left]Intergalactic Empire of Trekylon[/shadow]
is a large empire ruling over the southeastern region of the
continent of Columbia on the planet Gaia. Born on Earth, in the
chaos of the post-World War III period, as the Alabama Republic,
the nation saw many changes, many victories, and many defeats.
Presiding over the first explorations of space since World War
III as Treksylvania, reaching the apex of its influence as Holy
Trek, and achieving unprecedented cultural power in the early
period of Trekylon, the empire suffered a defeat which forced a
mass migration from the world, and galaxy which gave birth to
it. A Second Golden Age is currently underway as the millions of
displaced persons are being settled on new worlds in a new
       galaxy.
       Geography (Home Territories)
The geography of the Intergalactic Empire of Trekylon is as
varied as the people. Two major mountains form a geographical
boundary between the Empire and the Holy Empire of Inuyashia.
The Cardassian mountains run the length of the district of
Tennessia, and form the boundary between Tennessia district and
the Inuyashian province of Kekkaishi. The Tennessia River runs
from the point at which the Cardassian and Appalachian mountains
meet, to the River Dax (formerly the Mississippi River). The
Appalachians run down from Inuyashia to Alabama district. The
south-central Appalachians are the home of the Cherokee Indian
population in the Federate Cherokee State. The Chahoochee River
is one of the three major waterways in the empire. A series of
canals were dug out, connecting the Imperial capital and the
various cities of Alabama and Muscogee districts. The Tennessia
River serves as a major waterway between the Cherokee lands of
Appalachia and the Western frontiers. Cities such as Chattooga
and Hunts prosper from their location on the riverbanks. The
River Dax serves as a major waterway between Trekylon and
Inuyashia. Memph, Viburg, and Orleania are the major cities
located on the Trekylon side of the River Dax. The coastal plain
of Trekylon runs from Arkansa and Acadiana districts to Carolina
district. 80% of all agriculture takes place in this area. In
Alabama district there is a belt of soil which contains the
richest minerals in the empire, known locally as the 'Black
Belt'. There are also areas of swamp and marshland, most notably
along the rivers and in Acadiana district's Delta-lands. These
swamps serve as breakwaters for tidal waters and storm surge,
       preventing flooding further inland.
Climate of the Intergalactic Empire of Trekylon.
Temperatures in the continental territories range from mid 40s
for lows, to mid 60s (Fahrenheit) for highs in the winter.
Occasional snowstorms occur along the Cardassian and Appalachian
mountains, with snowfall in the Smoky Mountains as much as 8
inches. Winter is the wet season for the continental lands of
Trekylon, as rainfall occurs most often in the late fall to
early spring period. Fall (November) and Spring (March-April)
are the big severe weather seasons in Trekylon. Thunderstorms
often bring heavy rain, gusty winds, frequent lightning and
hail. On occasion, thunderstorms have generated tornadoes.
Tornadoes occur most often between 3 pm and 9 pm, with rare
overnight occurrences documented. Rare freak storms can occur,
but because of the differences in overall climate between Gaia
and Earth, they're generally not very strong. The better climate
conditions on Gaia have made it possible to grow an assortment
of Earth grains and domesticated Gaian grains such as tebina,
       qartao, and sehlah grain.
Trekylon's colonies have varied climates based on their distance
from their local stars. These varied climates make it possible
for the many Imperial races to settle and sometimes even share
the common resources. In some cases, where lifeforms cannot
exist with portable atmospheres or EV suits, resources continue
to remain the main focus. 90% of Trekylon's planetary colonies
are Class-M Earthlike with gravity ratings only slightly above
or below the Terra-normal. Minerals exported from the colonies
include gold, uranium, platinum, titanium, impervium, and
silver. Other exports include timber, grains, fruits,
manufactured goods, and technology. Of the celestial bodies in
the Gaia-Hera system, Hera comes closest to matching Gaia's
climate, with only slight variations. Ielia and Gallipoli, with
89% of their surfaces covered in water, have more cyclones than
any other body in the system. This makes coastal settlements
more vulnerable to coastal flooding and storm surge, resulting
in programs of fortification along the coastal settlements.
       History Summary
The empire was first founded on Earth as Treksylvania under
Michael I, who would be the longest-reigning emperor in history.
From its Sol-bound beginnings, Treksylvania spread across the
quadrant, colonizing new star systems, making contact with new
races and interstellar empires, and peacefully incorporating
many others as equal (Founder) partners in the otherwise
Terran-dominated hierarchy. For three years it enjoyed the
protection of the Imperial Federation, a union of several
imperialistic nations under a common government, ruler, and
military. This allowed Treksylvania to develop new technologies
and at the same time afforded protection as the empire met its
first challenge in the expansionist alliance known as the
Directorate. First by crippling Levant Al-Asad, then destroying
Zlost, and finally neutralizing Krakhozia, Treksylvania rose to
become a prominent regional power in the galaxy. Treksylvania
would, however, soon meet with a setback after being defeated by
the nation of Yee and Gotham Republics in the first of two wars.
This first defeat led to a period of uncertainty, as the
Imperial Federation and the independent nation of Vulcan faced
threats of attack from Yee's allies, leaving Treksylvania to
face the 'Old Guard' alone. Out of fear that the victorious
alliance would seek the emperor out, Michael I was spirited into
Vulcan territory. This would cause major chaos as many of the
military and civilian authorities now prepared to defend the
empire from an all-out invasion. When this did not materialize,
Michael I was able to return and reestablish a unified central
government under the new name: Holy Trek. Rebuilding its
military, Holy Trek once more turned to the stars to expand its
economy and restore the infrastructure damaged in the First Yee
War, but due to harassment from Yee and its Old Guard allies,
Holy Trek again found itself at war. The war resulted in a
stalemate, and though an eventual reconciliation happened,
Michael I would remain wary of anyone with connections to the
defeated and defunct Directorate (Laptev Axis).
Months later, the Imperial Federation would become tyrannical
and begin to impose a more centralized government on its many
commonwealths, and impose more aggressive policies on the many
organizations they chaired (INTERPOL). This led both Holy Trek
and Vulcan, joined by several other commonwealths, to declare
independence and establish diplomatic relations with many of
their former enemies. This diplomatic revolution left the
Imperial Federation isolated, and soon after destroyed by a
coalition. Holy Trek would continue to expand its diplomatic
bases and thereafter emerge as an intergalactic power. Notable
events that happened during this time were the first exploration
of Galaxy 12-A, the Tamriel Civil War, and the Horizon War-which
resulted in modest conquests by Holy Trek.
Holy Trek would encounter a new and more menacing threat two
years later, with the rise of an unknown coalition called the
Barlat Concordiat. Initially, the empire tried to maintain good
relations with its members, until its ally, USSR (successor to
Tamriel after a brief revolution) was threatened by two Barlat
members. Michael I was determined to convince the Concordiat to
sit down at the negotiating table with the USSR, but the
embargoes and defensive blockades of USSR target systems against
Ish'Cong led to a three-way, all-out assault on the empire.
Kira's Kingdom and the Great Houses of Xie both joined in the
attack, with the Kirans hitting the joint Holy Trek-USSR
administered world of Twist and the Great Houses seizing the
Imperial-aligned yet independent Verulon system. Overwhelmed on
all sides, Holy Trek was forced to yield to the Concordiat and
in the harsh Treaty of Twist removed Michael I from the throne
and banned his children from being named heirs and successors.
Attempts at mediation by allied nations Vulcan, Inuyashia, and
Alterra did moderate the terms somewhat, but the Ishii and Xie
were determined to uphold their demand that no member of the
House of Harvey could assume the throne. With 60% of its
infrastructure destroyed, 45% of the military shattered and
seemingly abandoned by all but its closest allies, Holy Trek
imploded with the sudden departure of the Imperial family. A
junior branch of the former Imperial family managed to assume
the throne and brought the empire to stability as the renamed
Federal Commonwealth of Trekylon, but resentments stemming from
the Twist Diktat remained. Attempts to restore the monarchy,
which were met by attack or threat of attack, drove the Imperial
government to consider doing what only three years before
would've been impossible: alignment with Laptev in their growing
animosity toward the Concordiat. Lured by promises of Barlat
territory and the restoration of the Harvey dynasty, Trekylon
joined Laptev in declaring war on the Concordiat, soonafter
joined by Inuyashia. But when a former Concordiat state switched
sides and joined Laptev, their ongoing dispute with Inuyashia
forced Laptev to turn against Inuyashia (and as a result,
Trekylon too). Nothing was lost by Trekylon, but Inuyashia had
to abandon its Earth claims and leave Earth. To date, there has
been no reconciliation between Laptev and Barlat. Trekylon,
having already decided to leave Earth, now planned to establish
a duplicate Earth using a then-unknown technology known as the
Genesis Device (this had been previously used to restore planets
shattered by WMDs). The plan, called Project Terra, created a
world designated Earth II. But before the critical phase of the
plan could be implemented, USOA, Kesrith, and Rhamos launched an
unprovoked attack which led to the loss of 40% of the military
and 20% of the total population, the loss of the second capital
world, Panthera, and the destruction of Earth II. It was in this
war that Trekylon lost its first commander-in-chief in action
when Michael II (formerly Baron Matthew of the House Godwin)
lost his life saving the crew of ISS Enterprise-A.
Having evacuated the surviving populations from the Milky Way
galaxy, and temporarily sheltering in the territory of allied
Givos, the government-in-exile needed both a new home galaxy and
a new emperor. With one candidate assassinated within USOA
territory after a supposed meeting to end hostilities, Givos
agreed to pay host to a multinational conference to settle all
disputes. From this meeting, Inuyashia and America resolved
their differences amicably, Trekylon reiterated its agreement
not to restore a member of House Harvey, and renounced any
remaining claims in the Milky Way. In the latter days of the
conference a new voice was heard, former Merchants Guild member
Drake Patterson, now named regent by the Council of Ministers
and the Parliament. More good news followed when a new galactic
home was found in Bode's Galaxy (Galaxy 23-A). A star system was
soon selected to be the new capital system for Trekylon and the
population was distributed across as much interstellar space as
was close to the new system. A full year after the Arrival,
Regent Drake was elected emperor as Drake I, first emperor not
       of the aristocracy.

       [center][glow=blue,2,300]Colonies of Trekylon[/glow][/center]
       Hera
Discovered at the same time as Gaia, Hera is the partner in the
double-planet system and shares three moons with Gaia. Its
believed that Hera may have a fourth moon, though no evidence
has been thus far found. Class-M with slightly more surface
water than Gaia, Hera carries the same varied climates as her
partner planet. The planet has a slow rotation period due to the
gravitational influence of Gaia, making a Heran day
approximately 27.3 Earth-hours. A Heran year, like the Gaian
year is approximately 395.2 Earth-days. Named for the Greek
goddess and wife of Zeus, Hera has been discovered to have a
       primitive (by Trekylon's technological standards),
primate-humanoid civilization that has developed primitive
spaceflight, though not warp-drive. Contact with this native
civilization is expected to be limited until such time as they
achieve FTL travel, with strict emphasis on the disapproval of
the Imperial government on sharing technology for FTL travel.
       Gallipoli
The third moon of the Gaia-Hera double planet system, Gallipoli
is named for the Turkish fortress which withstood the siege of
an Anglo-French/ANZAC amphibious assault done in the hope of
knocking Turkey from the First World War. Its a Class-M moon
with lightly more active seismic activity than Earth due to the
dual influences of Gaia and Hera. Orbiting both planets,
Gallipoli's rotation gives it the total of 23.1 Earth-hours,
meaning that at least three times a year, both parent planets
can be seen in the sky together. 66% of the moon is covered in
ocean with the rest a mix of forest, plain, and icecap. Trekylon
established a presence on Gallipoli at the very same time that
settlement of both Gaia and Hera took place. The moon is
primarily a series of military outposts and preserved forest and
       grassland with few civilian settlements.
       Ielia
Ielia is the first moon of the Gaia-Hera double planet system,
with 78% of its surface covered in water. Research facilities
are currently the limit of colonization by the empire as there
are few landmasses to settle. It is also deemed imperative by
the government to protect the oceans of Ielia as any contact
with the marine and amphibious lifeforms could prove fatal to
them and/or the settlers. Recently, settlers have been granted
limited access to the many islets scattered across the moon,
however, the ban on colonization of the larger islands remains
       in effect.
       Mojavia
Mojavia is the second moon of the Gaia-Hera double planet
system. Only 4% of its entire surface area is water, making this
a desert world. Few settlements have been established because of
this, with the exceptions being those around the few
free-flowing rivers, oases, and lakes. Vulcan settlers have been
given the right to settle on this moon, and an accord has been
drafted between the Vulcan and Imperial governments for joint
       administration of the moon.
