The Rehabilitation of Empress Rebecca I

This series of short stories will begin with the arrival at the
Royal Palace in Ryujin and will continue until 3 months before
Inuyashia's entry into the Interstellar War (a.k.a: The
Trekylon-Xie War, the Trekylon Succession War, the Intergalactic
Federacy(IGF)-Concordiate War, the Restoration War)

**Backstory**
Empress Rebecca I of the Holy Empire of Inuyashia, who had tried
to keep her country neutral in the raging Civil War being waged
in the territory of its oldest ally the Intergalactic Empire and
Federal Commonwealth of Trekylon, had been abducted by
mercenaries hired by the rebels led by ex-senator Trom Vergusson
and ex-soldier and amputee Alden Tate, as a means of attempting
to distract the government from aiding the central government of
Drake I, new Trekylonian emperor, but also to punish ex-emperor
of Trekylon Michael I for not endorsing their rebellion, which
they claimed aimed at nothing less than a full militarization
with the intent to restore the Harvey dynasty to the imperial
throne in violation of the Atlantis Treaty. While many of the
mercenaries were killed when Michael I rescued the empress, one
merc was captured and brought back to Gaia, where he was turned
over to the care of Camus, the empress' trusted minister of war.
Despite the fact she has been reunited with the family, it is
clear the empress will have a long road to travel to heal both
her body and her mind, after enduring grueling torture during
her captivity

The Hoverstretcher containing the empress was brought to a room
near her chambers where the Minister of Health Kang Sharma was
waiting. He smiled kindly at her.
Kang: "Welcome back, my empress. I received the file from Doctor
McCrory. I just want to check on a few things then I'll let you
get some well-needed rest."
The Empress nodded feeling nervous but knowing that no one would
hurt her here. Kang helped her to sit up then began gently but
knowingly touching certain parts of her body to see if any pain
remained. Her ankle and shoulder seemed to be the only areas
that were still tender to touch or movement.
Kang: "Ok, it looks like most of your injuries were healed
before your arrival as he said. For the next week, wear a sling
to minimize movement in your shoulder when not in physical
therapy. Same with your ankle, I'll wrap it for tonight."
He waved over her handmaidens.
Kang: "Give her a nice warm bath, and prepare her for bed. I'll
be in afterward to wrap her ankle and help her into a sling."
The handmaidens nodded and directed the hoverstretcher from the
room and into her room and into the bathroom. They readied the
bath with essential oils and some bubbles as well. Oh, How she
missed this. A trusted guard was brought in and lifted the
empress off of the hover-stretcher and set her down next to the
inground bath. He left as the handmaidens removed the hospital
gown and helped her slide into the bath. They disrobed and came
into the bath to assist in cleaning her as well. The mint and
chamomile drifted in the air and helped to relax more than she
thought possible. The Handmaidens brushed her hair and cleaned
it so it sparkled again. Once done they helped her out and onto
a cushioned bench to dry her and tie her hair. A light blue silk
gown was placed over her body. It was cool to the touch and felt
weightless on her. A chemise shawl was placed over her shoulders
as the guard returned and carried the empress to her bed. Kang
was by the bedside as the empress was set down on the bed by the
pulled down covers. He nodded and started about his last duties
for the night. He wrapped her ankle and then applied the sling
to her shoulder.
Kang: "I'll send your husband in as soon as I've spoken with
him. He won't be long."
The empress nodded and was aided under the covers, her eyes felt
heavy again. She nodded off before they left the room.
Kang met up with Michael I and the eldest children.
