       The Immediate Aftermath

       The Genesis Treaty was formally signed on stardate 45231.7
       (April 5th 2317) to much pomp and circumstance on the world
       which lent its name to the document. But on Verulon Prime, the
       scene was very different. Thousands of Veruloni had been made
       destitute and homeless. Thousands more had been killed in the
       last days of the Occupation under the Great Houses of Xie.
       Though the terms the Provisional Government demanded at the
       negotiations were already being fulfilled -albeit by a Great
       Houses already under financial burden due to reparations to the
       other powers and deeply divided against itself as a result of
       the Great Purge of House Meiji - for many Veruloni, the only way
       the Great Houses could fully pay for the damages inflicted in
       their rape of the planet would be to surrender those Xie
       officers and officials who conducted the despoliation. Efforts
       were being made by many families to encourage the provisional
       government to begin seeking INTERPOL and GALAPOL help in running
       the guilty ones to ground.
