Hello robo-nerds!

Hi all,
My name is Devin (yep, another one!). I'm a mechanical engineer
in Colorado, and like many of you here, J5 was a huge
inspiration to me growing up.
The company I work for designs industrial robotic welding
systems, although we don't actually make the robots we use (ABB
robots from Sweden). Being a mechanical engineer there, I get
work in SolidWorks all day long, so I was thrilled to hear the
release of SolidWorks files from Input-Inc.
When I'm not at work, I'm part of the R2-D2 Builders Club and
often troop with the 501st Legion, as well as work on custom
electronics for other replica prop stuff.
As much as I'd like to, I doubt I will ever get around to
building a full J5, but I do have the following goals:
1. Head assembly
2. Mini remote J5
I've already started on the mini by 3D printing the head from
the files released, pretty easy and awesome place to start ;)
Onward!

Welcome! It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders
and realistic goals for this project. We are working on the head
design, but please if you have ideas don't be afraid to share
towards the common goal.
Always glad to have another Devin around. :)
