I agree. The holes on my cradle base are inline with eachother.
And it works for me

Yes. On the first images of the first film ("the assembling
process") we can see the track plates and the rivets are below
the surface of the derlin plates.
I think it was hard to produce (90 track links, 720 rivets for
each bot tracks.. ) that's why the original J5 lost these
wonderful tracks. I also think to remake the track panels and
sink the rivet below the surface.

It's not so hard, when it is clear what to do. :)
I did a splintering lever mechanism using a profiled guide.
