You are going to love it!!! I would go back in a heartbeat -
cash is more the issue. Tell the Captain I get their
newsletters, save them, and tell folks about the French all the
time. I have sailed 4 times with Dan Pease. And I do not usually
repeat places because there are so many places to see. Think of
me during he lobster bake. Take a small bottle of dish soap so
you can take a bath in the world's largest bathtub (a bar of
soap will sink). Pack an extra towel - you will be issued 1.
Sheets etc. will be on your bunk - if you want them on the
mattress, you will put it on it. AND IF you have the light on in
your room, turn it off when you leave your cabin - otherwise, it
may not be there (the bulb) when you return. My middle son found
that out the hard way. I am green with jealousy!!!!! Enjoy.
Oh, if you are driving up from Boston, check out the Prison Wood
store in Thomaston - it is fantastic.

I need an update! How was the cruise? Did you stop at the wood
store? Sis the French stop in Stonington for the lobsters?

Ha! As I arrived in Camden, Maine, it was raining so hard I had
to pull off the road and park. Could not see to drive! I looked
at the weather map and we were getting extreme colors on the
radar I've never seen before!
Then the hail started! I was worried about dents in my rental
car, so I soon found a big tree I could park under for some
protection.
Once we were out on the Atlantic, we had the full weather
spectrum. One day it was raining and we had to eat our meals
down in the galley rather than on deck as usual. One day it was
so foggy they had a deckhand sounding their vintage 1910 fog
horn. It worked! Another day the wind was so strong the ship was
blown to the leeward side with only 12 inches between the water
and the deck. (Great fun!) Another day we were in the doldrums,
with no wind at all. Most days it was 55 F and I was freezing,
while the New Englanders were running around in shorts and tee
shirts!
But yes, for our lobster boil on a beach day, stellar weather!
Loved it!

I apologize - I DID forget to warn about cold. Our first trip
(1986) was in August. Hurricane Charlie was going up the coast.
I was freezing but only had $100 to get the 6 of us home & I do
not think that Captain took a credit card so I could not buy a
sweatshirt - it was AUGUST, I expected heat!
My last trip was 1994 (4th time), just before I went back to WV.
Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe I will get to go back next year......

No problem. I just put on two shirts and my raincoat with hood,
which blocked the wind. And I was always plenty warm in my
cabin. In fact, I got hot a couple of times in the cabin.
Luckily, I took a little fan that plugged into the USB outlet in
the cabin, so I was just perfect!
