       Much needed rain

In the west, wildfire season has radically changed our life in
the past 5 years. It creates a lot of anxiety and changed our
business; people cancel because of smoke. But, we got a good
rain and some cooler weather. Fall is coming, starting to
       harvest pears.

Great news! I used to think of Oregon as a northern rain forest!
But I learned on my American Cruise Lines "Lewis & Clark Cruise"
that half of Oregon is practically a desert. As an excursion
from our cruise, we did a day-long jetboat tour on the Snake
River out of Clarkston, WA/Lewiston, ID, and the guide pointed
out all the smoke on the horizon from several out of control
wild fires within a few miles of us. That was 2 years ago.
Meanwhile, my whole life our corner of Arkansas used to have 100
degree hot summers with little or no rain from June to
September, but the last few years it's 85 degrees most summer
days and heavy rain once or twice every week. Locally we say,
welcome to the rain forest! The mold removal companies are
getting rich. We are the new Eden, for now.
I keep asking why they want to build an oil pipeline from Canada
to Texas, but they never mention a needed water pipeline from
Arkansas to California! Billions of gallons of water dump daily
into the Gulf of Mexico, from our Mississippi and Arkansas
       Rivers. Such a waste.

The Feds keep trying to take control of West Virginia water & we
keep fighting them - successfully so far. The Tree-huggers keep
blocking the pipeline that would transport oil & gas and keep
another East Palestine from happening. Sigh. Think how many law
suits they would file to stop a pipeline from Arkansas to
California. We had another rain last week in southern WV of over
       9 inches.

If they built a pipeline from Arkansas to California, Arizona
would drill in and steal most of the water.
