       Unreasonable Expections
By: Generic Date: August 29, 2023, 3:51 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Guest checking in in two days... tells us that afraid of having
breakfast in the dining room with other guests, they want us to
deliver it to their room, every day.
Uhm.... NO! Why would you expect us to do that for you, for
free? We offered that they can pick up an abbreviated breakfast
and bring it back when they are finished. But no, we don't do
       breakfast in bed for free.
Why would you, a few months AFTER you reserve all of a sudden
think you can ask us to do this?
I let my other half answer the email, because my first gut
reaction, started with the letter F and ended with a U. I don't
have enough to do, juggling all the breakfasts for all the
rooms? I really need to add to this breakfast in bed for free
because you are afraid of eating in the dining room with others?
Even during COVID, we provided a take-away abbreviated breakfast
and you had to return the dishes. I will NOT be doing breakfast
in bed for free. They didn't even offer to pay for the service

I suppose you could quote them a price. A really high price.
       $50 per person.
On the other hand, my response would be similar to your fantasy
       response. F that!
Agree that we managed through Covid. We can manage now. If
they are so afraid of running into people, they should stay
       home.

We do a buffet. People occasionally take their breakfast back
to the room. I prefer they not do that, but short of tackling
them on the stairs, I can’t really stop it.

And what exactly do they expect when they dine in a (gasp!)
restaurant? Do they ask for the place to be cleared so they can
come in? I not only serve "family-style" BUT all at one table. I
       know, I m gauche.

We serve all at one table. But not family style. It's a table
       for 10 people.
And no, they aren't taking it to their room. Those beautiful
blue dishes stay in the dining room. Never to leave except to
       the kitchen to be washed

Same here. They can take their Gillum House mug but not the blue
dishes. I have other sets I use for in the room with the cake I
       might make for them.

They want it for the room, I have lovely plastic meal-prep
containers that were purchased at the dollar store. That and
only that is leaving the dining room

They cancelled. I put the room back for sale for $20 more per
night and it sold in a few hours. No nonsense.
