       So what about black towels?
By: Arks Date: May 30, 2023, 2:21 pm

My housekeepers spend way too much time working on stains in our
white towels and washcloths. We have the black makeup cloths,
but way too often people manage to stain the white ones, and
even if they CAN get the stains out, it can take a lot of their
       time.
One of them suggested we switch to black washcloths, hand towels
and bath towels, and I'm willing to give it a try. Anything to
get them to stop complaining about stains ;)
I found some at a pretty good price and they say "bleach safe."
I know they'll fade eventually, but it might be easier to buy
more towels than to find new housekeepers!

I put in black/grey facecloths. They sit on a shelf in the
bathroom that say "makeup removal" and they are pretty well
used. The black hand towels are usually the ones marked "bleach
safe" as they are intended to beauty salons and spas.
I seriously, what do you have to lose? The white towels that I
       use are from the CostClub

Using Murphy's takes me very little time. Pour on, rub in, toss
in washer. But that is me doing the laundry (and we know I work
for food). My sister the hairdresser uses a brush for the rub in
step for the stains on her shop towels.

My question is what do guests want? I was under the impression
that guests wanted white to SEE that linen and towels were clean
[well before they used them to clean shoes or tires].
We order nice quality white cotton towels and wash cloths from a
supply house. Not a lot of savings on the cost of a towel over
buying retail but depending on size wash cloths seem to cost .50
to .85, easier just to pitch a nasty washcloth than to spend too
much time trying to get it clean again.

Wow! My washcloths are $3.60 each, plus shipping (from Turkish
towels)! I need to shop around!

B07DF777ZS on the Brazilian place...$31 for 48. What goes bad
can be marked and used for rags. We dye them. Or you can get the
       microfibre B0B249NY2F at $50 for 72 or grey at $40 for 72
And that's without a deep search
       B09PDB5N6D is $12 for 50. $20 for 50 black.

Agree, guests think white is clean because if there was a stain,
they would see it. Any place have camo towels?

White towels and facecloths since we started. Most stains come
out by pretreating by rubbing bar soap on the stain. I lose few
white towels but regularly lose the grey ones I have in one of
       the stand alone no-breakfast units
