       New Reservation Key Enhancement

       I recently made a Reservation Key enhancement request that John
       implemented and it's helping me a lot. I'll share incase some
       others can use it.
       I've never taken same day reservations with ResKey, since I
       don't want surprise reservations coming in after I've gone to
       bed or away from the computer for a few hours.
       All these years, when I get a same day question "Do you have a
       room available tonight?" I have to write back that yes, the X
       room is available, it $ plus tax. If you want to book, I'll need
       your name, email address, phone number, etc.
       Then I waited for them to maybe send the info, then manually
       enter all their data in the reservation and send a link for them
       to make payment.
       With the changes John made, I now handle it this way:
       - Select on the Availability screen the room I want to put them
       in.
       - Select Add Reservation
       - On the Reservation page, set the Status to Cancelled
       - Select More (lower right beside Correspondence), select Links
       and copy the Booking Link
       - Send the guest the Booking link
       They can now make a reservation just like they normally would,
       entering all their personal info and making their payment. When
       they pay, the reservation status automatically changes from
       Cancelled to Confirmed.
       I keep checking things for a while, and if/when the payment goes
       through, I send them their arrival instructions just like I
       normally do.

       Arks seems like a good enhancement to me. I watched with
       interest when you made the request. I usually read the RK forum
       each morning along with this one. I don't do same day bookings
       either as cleaning depends on the timing fitting my daughter's
       schedule.
