Perhaps fortunate to be odd enough to miss many of those gripes.
Helps that all bookings are mine and don't have to deal with a
"platform". A great many guests are regulars and know the
routine.
Arrival times, I'm usually flexible and RK allow you to set time
ranges for arrival.
Descriptions, a number of pictures, simple descriptions, and
rooms
Furniture, most of it made to fit, finished so not easily
damaged
Thank you letter asks guest to let me know if they encountered
an issues. Perhaps I just target the nice everyday folks as
guests. Still love the business and those that visit.

I also get mostly nice people. One of the perks of being small
AND in a small City 7 miles from the Interstate.
This is the corner of my yard at the alley that is lined with
blackberry bushes & weeds - except right at the corner. Since
Bill died I do not have anyone who can remove poison ivy - as
you can see, along the sidewalk at the corner is a "cash crop"
(hampers berry picking since I see it and start scratching.

Many years ago, before entering the lodging business [Michelle
was still in elementary school], money was tight and we thought
we'd save money by cutting a young pine tree from our woods
instead of purchasing a Christmas tree. We must have wallowed in
poison ivy in the woods; a purchased tree would have been less
painful and cheaper than the required doctor visits.
These days if I catch poison ivy while it is small I generally
grab a couple of the plastic trash bags, stick my hand in them
covering the hand and arm, pull up the ivy and then pull the bag
down with the other hand so that the ivy is covered by the
plastic and dump in trash. I really prefer some weed killer
squirted from a distance.

Poison Ivy is annoying stuff. Weed spray will kill it, but dead
poison ivy remains highly irritating. The plant's rash-causing
oil, urushiol, is incredibly stable and retains its potency for
up to five years, even after the plant has died, dried out, or
been pulled up. And never burn poison ivy. Burning vaporizes its
toxic oil (urushiol) and carries it in the smoke. Inhaling this
smoke can cause life-threatening respiratory issues and severe
internal rashes.

AND you can get it doing the laundry od someone who has been in
it. Learned tht as a kid - my Mother said Mrs. Catlett got it
from washing the boys' jeans. My yard guy said he will work on
it - he doesn't think HE gets it but his wife does. I told him
HE needs to wash the clothes he wears when he removes it from
you yard. I am actually thinking of buying him pants & shirt at
the Woman's Club rummage sale for him to throw away when he is
done.

Yes, it spreads easily, I think that time we had it so bad it
got on the bed sheets, we didn't understand and kept spreading
each night.
