       Conference Silent Auction

       I am going to the ALP Conference. They are doing a Silent & Live
       Auction fundraiser. I have nothing that would be of enough value
       for the Live Auction, but am taking 3 baskets each of which will
       contain: 4 pint jars of freshly roasted coffees from various
       countries (vacuum sealed for freshness), a coffee grinder, a
       Gillum mug, and a Gillum ornament. Then I had purchased a
       basket-like tray and it was perfect for 12 half-pint jars (also
       vac-sealed) of each of the countries in those other three
       baskets. Then I had a large basket that I had made in 1997 (I
       had signed & dated it so I know when) and I filled it with
       albums, CDs mead & honey, small bottles of moonshine, whiskey,
       and vodka (made locally and won awards at International
       competitions), and other things made locally or in WV.
       Everything in it showcases my local area and the State (the
       maple products are from my "home" area).

       Two of the 3 similar baskets each brought $85 and the third
       brought $75. The 12 half pints brought $110. NO ONE bid on the
       big basket so I gave them $50 and brought it home (Sarah did not
       want to take anything but I insisted - I created it to raise
       some dollars.)
       I am now going to give it to the Band raffle at the Elimination
       Dinner fundraiser (but I am keeping the Mead - I want to taste
       it!). At least I tried.
