COMFORT, JOY, and GOOD WISHES

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to ALL. May the family time
be joyful and the food abundant & delicious!
I will go upstairs shortly to turn on the heat and take up the
fruit basket - a going to celebration couple who return Sunday
going home. Perfect timing - they will not be here while I have
Christmas with #1 Grandson. He will stop here Saturday on his
way home from Illinois an Christmas with one or both of his
parents and a stop in Indiana on his way here (his Dad's family
- so I give up a day but I know how to share). On the 23rd I
turned a call asking about X-country skiing (not enough snow at
my locale) into a 2-night hiking Christmas present - arriving
New Year's Day -starting the year wonderfully AND I had already
changed the rate to 2026 as of 1-01-2026!

Sounds wonderful! Enjoy the season.
I'm also raising rates Jan. 1. Overall, Google says hotel rates
increased 10-14% in 2025. Supplies, utilities, insurance,
property taxes are all going up. We have to go up with them.

"Something came up at work" and they cancelled the return night.
Nice folks - I think they were pleased. I sent them off with
to-go cups of Costa Rica coffee and a "care package" I send
almost all guests off with - a 6 x 6 pastry box of mini-muffins.
I had roasted some China coffee a couple days ago so I vac
sealed a half pint jar of China coffee as a "Christmas gift".
#1 grandson is coming in Saturday and we will have Christmas
dinner Sunday before he heads home to Virginia. I am so blessed!

Happy New Year to all.
Pretty peaceful holiday, just a few friends and family. One
guest couple came for our Christmas roast duck and to spend the
night.
Hard to say how I feel about next year ... my 17th as B&B!

Those years roll by quickly don't they Tom. We finished up 34
years in December. 8 room motel so advantage of not having to
feed our guests and the majority are all good folks.

Happy New Year to all. It's so cold around here, witches are
outside with their shirts open
I spent yesterday going through my website culling hard drive
space with the help of Gemini. I went from about 9GB to 2.5GB.
I've had this website so long that there were files dating back
to 15 years or so.
