Grrrr - I am NOT accustomed to this

I know, compared to what you folks deal with, this is small
potatoes. I am not accustomed to such behavior. When he came
down to Pay, not when they came down to eat breakfast to attend
to it faster, he informed me they spilled some wine on the quilt
on the bed. Of course it is RED wine! There is a bench at the
foot of the bed - but they had to have their wine IN bed!
It is a very old, fragile king-size quilt. It is in the washer
now on gentle with Mother Murphy working her magic. I will know
soon the results. Th stain turned blue so I think she is going
to do her job. Then getting it dry will be interesting. And yes,
they were a young couple - clueless. He said I should charge him
I needed to, but I bet dollars to donuts he expects it to be
n/c. (Oh they left a $10 tip (or damages payment)?)
The wine got my butt in gear to see if Mother Murphy could pull
it off. It will need another go but is so faded, it is hardly
noticeable thank goodness. I could not find it before it went
into the dryer so I threw it in. Good thing I did.
As I sat in my chair dozing off I was awaken by the phone and
expected the usual "dead air" when a voice said, do you have a
room available tonight? They were just minutes away but I told
them they could not arrive before 5 (it was 3:30. OK and then I
remembered we have a festival on the green so got a couple
chairs out of the shed & told them where to find them. On a
chance, I called my cleaner - she was at the festival with her
kid but a friend would watch her & she came over! We had just
made the bed when my other 2 rooms arrived. She finished
cleaning while I showed them their rooms. I even had time to
make a run to the grocery and make the fruit basket for their
room! My cleaner will be back tomorrow to clean all 3 rooms
and bathrooms for Monday! I still have 6 room night before the
       end of October.

Oxi, let it soak in. Wash out with cold water.

I do all my laundry in cold water. I knew Mother Murphy was
working when the stain turned blue, I just needed to work it
       into the fibers better.
I am still dragging from the last 2 days. Breakfast was 6 people
with 3 kinds of coffee, 2 meats, and thankfully the same time. I
still have 1 load of laundry and a few dishes to finish. My
cleaner is coming this morning to do the upstairs. My egg lady
came through with another 3 dozen eggs this morning (considering
I asked last night it is a miracle - I was down to a dozen) and
she made an extra trip into town to bring them!
I know the above is nothing to you young whippersnappers, but it
is a strain n this old broad! That extra room is a killer. (AND
I had to scramble to roast the Decaf (why bother?) because they
forgot to tell me what country for the Decaf until they were on
their way. Got'er done! Had I known THAT was going to happen, I
called to find out what country when I get the e-mail, I was
wrong there IS one Decaf (no country mentioned). Expecting the
choice to be from the list provided, I had to order a restock
of some - Murphy's Law being they will choose what you do not
have - for an extra $60 expense. At least it will be here for
       the future reference. Sigh!

It's decaf. What difference does it make, what country? It's all
the coffee, none of the fun. We have some decaf beans hidden in
the back of the cupboard, roasted, sitting in a bag, that we
weigh and grind if needed. Otherwise we tell them it's time for
tea. And we do a lot more turn overs than you do. We pull it out
maybe twice a year. I don't think we had a customer ask for it
       all summer.
We also don't do Keurig. We bought a commercial super automatic
espresso machine. It was about $1500. And one of the features...
it makes espresso, cappuccino, americano and coffee from fresh
beans, per cup. It also makes hot water, so while we still keep
the boiler, because we serve 10 to 12 breakfast each morning
(Japanese boiler), we could close it in the winter, if we wanted
       and just use this.
I do have to explain to people the difference though. Cappuccino
is espresso with milk, americano is espresso with water, but for
coffee, it makes an espresso puck, but pours all the water
through it. So Americano has more caffeine, but the more water
you pour over coffee, the higher the risk of over extraction,
which can make it bitter. It's already going to be weaker, you
       are adding water.
So basically Americano will be weaker, but less chance of it
being bitter because of over extraction. Coffee will be less
weak, more caffeine, but may have a bitter edge because of the
       over extraction.
