       Quilt

In August, the Shinnston Woman's Club had one of their 2 annual
Rummage Sales. (I was able to divest myself of a LOT of excess
good stuff that was taking up space.) My co-slave for Woman's
Club fundraising was putting a quilt up for display and I asked
what price she was putting on it - we are raffling it I knew the
daughter of the lady who did the embroidery for the quilt for
her daughter - we do not know who quilted it (both have long
since died). My friend had measured it and it was
full/queen-size. I offered $100 and those who had decided to
raffle it (including the lady who now had donated it) agreed I
was offering more than would be raised with a raffle. I also
promised it would be in the quilt show and it was one of 14 that
were voted on for best quilt (I did not expect to be in the
judging - it WAS labeled who embroidered it and who now owned
it) and it won second place. $$
It will now go back on the bed in Rosi's Room

Nice! Back during the COVID shutdown days, I took a few weekend
getaway trips just to get out of the house for a while, and one
of my trips was to Paducah, Kentucky. While there, I toured the
       National Quilt Museum
  HTML https://quiltmuseum.org/.
I didn't have high expectations for
looking at a bunch of quilts, but I was blown away by the
quality and imagination and talent of the people who made the
quilts on display there. Well worth a
       visit!

I took a quilting class once - I do NOT have the patience to do
it. I really need a king-size, but I do not want to spend what
it would take to get one just to have someone ruin it the first
night it was on the bed. Not intentionally - I do not get those
       - but I have a duvet with a perfect handprint. It looks like she
was putting on her foundation, lost balance, and put her hand
down to keep from falling. Mother Murphy faded it considerably,
but I don't use that one any more.
