AI For the Breakfast Win
By: Generic Date: June 8, 2025, 5:24 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Okay, I have discovered an actual USEFUL use for AI when it
comes to the B&B... making breakfast suggestions from foods you
have to use or to adulterate mixes of things so that they aren't
all the same.
So, I tell it that I have Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix, 8.5 oz and ask
it for 5 different ideas that don't include the classic of
making corn muffins...
Cornbread Pancakes
Savory Cornbread Waffles
Skillet Cornbread (Casserole-Style)
Corn Fritters / Cornbread "Hush Puppies"
Cornbread French Toast Sticks
Well, now I want an idea for 3 savoury breakfast items that
include eggs and incorporate the mix...
Cheesy Cornbread & Egg Bake
Corn Fritter Stacks with Poached Eggs & Avocado
Spicy Cornbread Migas with Scrambled Eggs
Which is great if you have something that's on an incredible
sale and you want to use it. You can even give it other
ingredients to use.
For example, I pulled up the Blueberry Jiffy Muffins and asked
for sophisticated impressive variations and it gave me:
Lemon-Thyme & Poppy Seed Mini Muffins with Zest Glaze
Brown Butter & Toasted Pecan Mini Muffins with Maple Drizzle
Cardamom-Orange Blossom Mini Muffins with Almond Crumble
Ginger & Spiced Walnut Mini Muffins with Cream Cheese Swirl
What I like is if you don't have something, you tell it you
don't have it, but among the things you do have are... and it
will switch or come up with other options.
I even asked how you would prepare the mix for a vegan and
yup... it will come up with substitutions or changes you can
make to produce a vegan muffin instead. Pretty cool!

And it will only get better with time...or worse, depending on
how you look at it.
I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that...

Do I think this is really AI... no. Do I think that they faking
of AI is beneficial... yes.
Try asking AI: Who was Noah's son's father?
Simple for a human... Gemini replies with: Noah was the father
of his sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
It will take hundreds of iterations before it understand how to
answer that correctly.
The most important part of this is... Artificial. It's right in
the title. It's not intelligence. It's just taking the sum of
human knowledge that it has access to and trying to distill it.
It understands that blueberries go with lemons because a lot of
people do it. But does it know what happens if you use a haskap
or a saskatoon berry? Does it understand what a sichuan pepper
actually does to your taste buds if you mix it in raspberry? No.
But it sees people writing about it and understands if they are
being positive or negative about it.
